Funny how Ian regularly expresses fondness for 2-D games, while here he immediately passes judgement by setting a ceiling for Wario Waggle's potential.

Plus just look at Captain Rainbow.  It's a B-title.  So is Animal Crossing.  So is Warioland Shake.  Pretty much every year Nintendo has some big A-title around Christmas.  Last year they had Super Mario Galaxy.  What the hell do they have this year?  It looks like Wii Music is their big Christmas title.  So core gamers don't get one or what?

Christmas is exactly 5 months away. A lot of things can be announced before then. If you've been a Nintendo fan for as long as I'm guessing you have, you should know they are constantly working on games and they don't usually announce them until maybe a month or two before they are released, so there's still plenty of time for them to reveal some major surprises.

The games are there for those who want to play them. What's a B-title? Is Wario Land not good enough? Well, Christ, what is for some people? Wario won't sell consoles, but I don't think Nintendo needs system sellers. They'll do just fine releasing good, fun titles.

Also, I don't know if you've played No More Heroes, but if you didn't, then you need to shut the hell up. You want a hardcore game? There it is.... sitting on store shelves, not selling as much as a game that great should. It's niche, but it's a core game. It boggles my mind how many people have passed that game up and still think they have the right to complain about what's on the Wii.

Have you even been paying attention to Wario Land Shake?  When it was first shown, it looked a lot like Wario Land 4 which was a good sign, and then the video's came out that showed the game would contain a lot of great platforming elements.  And now according to people who've just imported it, they say it IS a top notch platformer and easily comparable to the older titles.  Plus they say that each level contains different missions and that some of the missions can be quite challenging.

So from all the impressions so far, Wario Land Shake is a traditional, core gaming A list title.

Also, I don't know if you've played No More Heroes, but if you didn't, then you need to shut the hell up. You want a hardcore game? Now that I can agree with.  No More Heroes is the very definition of a hardcore traditional game that's also very good.  Plus it can be found at stores for only $30 now, so anyone that owns a Wii and calls themselves a hardcore gamer has no excuse not to own it.

Ian would probably classify that game as "casual" because it features minigames where you collect coconuts and mow lawns.

So what makes a game a big A-title? Big sales? Because Animal Crossing will outsell everything. High quality? Because Wario Land looks AMAZING. Neither of those? Does it need Mario or Link? Gosh Ian, they can't just flood the market with the same Mario franchise. I know you'd love Mario Basketball or a Tingle FPS to surprise us out of nowhere this holiday, but it's not happening.

I'll buy Wario Land Shake just to spite Ian.

Oh... but it'll actually be my first ever Wario Land title. That'll be interesting.

I already have my copy reserved, but I did it out of love for the series rather than to spite some anonymous fanboy ;) .

Is it too late to say that I'm genuinely excited for this game? I mean, seriously... 2D platformer guys!

As if you can expect an answer to this...But a Tingle FPS would make me laugh, as much as I dislike Tingle... ='D

Bill dislikes Tingle due to Reaction Formation.  He dislikes Tingle because he secretly wants Tingle and only verbally declares it as a defense mechanism.

I wonder how that Valkyrie Profile game will turn out.  I have Lenneth for PSP and it kinda lost me...all the maze-wandering got pretty repetitive.
