Things from the Past
« on: March 06, 2008, 09:34:02 PM »
The non-funhouse version of this thread.  So with the new forums you can go back and see every post you've ever made.  My first was a quite long...  But this one I liked:

Three Games for the Fans who look to the sky,
Seven for the doubters in there hall of specs.
Nine for the Non-Gamers who are doomed to try,
One for Miyamoto on his Pipe throne
In the Land of Nintendo where the Plumber lie.
One Game to show them all how it's done, One Game to find them,
One Game to bring them all and in the console bind them
In the Land of Nintendo where the Plumber lie.

Oh and to keep on topic, sorry about the double post, the new feature of the Revolution is....  A place to keep your Tea warm.   <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> That's right.  You heard it here first.  Using complicated cooling features and the heat from the Triforce of Processors it will keep your tea or Coffee, we're equal oppurtunity, warm.

A little off though It could work...

Quote
While waiting in line for his PS3, which he preoredered to boot, Timmy notices something.
Something shiny, something white.
Looks cool and comforting.
He just wants to hold it.
Play with it.
Love it.
Look it's right by him.
He wouldn't lose his place in line.
So why not play?
"You know this is fun," thought Timmy as he prepared a virtual meal.
Then the line moves on.
"Here is your PS3 Timmy, enjoy."
Dun dum dee dun~.  Timmy has Acquired a PS3.  (One of the lucky few who did)
Timmy gets home and hooks it up.
The graphics are wonderful.
The gameplay is tired.
The Online not there.
Staring at his boomerang Timmy declares, "This will do to fill my fix for a while but when it comes out I will sell it and by my glimmer"
Poor Timmy was hooked by it's lucious curves and sleek exterior.
It had him in a thrawl.
It was all he could think about at night.
Even when he was playing the PS3 he was thinking of the other.
Soon the day came and the darkness disappeared.
Timmy then declared, "The day is here, the darkness is gone.  PS3 was swell but this is more fun."
This points if you can find the thread...

The original has funny pictures but it's to small to read and to big of an image if scanned.

...

SSB Rep:
SSBO is excellent.  So beyond words that Nintendo has authorized me to show you this demo reel as the conclusion of this revolutionary presentation.

<Lights Dim>
<Demo Reel Starts>
<Everyone swears that the characters are actually on the stage fighting>
<Cheers erupt when Kid Icarus appears and peppers the competition>
<Boos come out when he’s turned into an eggplant>
<Shows pop ups of 8 people w/ different nationalities controlling 8 different characters>
<Camera fly-by of the characters watching a fight until it has zoomed into the fight itself and freezes the characters in the fight>
<Camera pans around frozen characters until the background goes to black with the characters showing off their exquisite detail>
“Are You Ready” (Shows up on the screen)
<Explodes the characters off as trophies>
SSBO Logo
<Lights Brightens>

Did we know of Kid Icarus in Brawl by then... I was a little off about 8 players

I totally dug up your first post, and I actually remember it quite vividly. It's really not all that bad, mine is most definitely worse.

has anyone ever gotten xlink kai to work for the cube. Tried doing it with double dash but didnt have any luck. I do use it for the xbox and never have a problem.

Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

My first post isn't exciting, but my third post is amusing.  In it, I talk about how Game Boy Advance Video is going to be "big".

Whoops.  I humbly apologize to anyone who invested in Majestco stock. ;)
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

Yeah, like nobody wants to even try deciphering my old posts. Just be thankful I have Firefox now and have mellowed out a lot.

My first post wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Quote
I am from Australia and I bought a cube at the launch and at school i was the greatest thing since sliced bread. For a while everybody asked how it was and could it do this and could it do that. Everyone said "oh yeah i will get one" Then the hype went it was no longer the new exciting thing and no-one but me and my friend had one. The ads went from the TV, the gc game departments kept getting smaller and smaller, this is a result of NAL, sure there is still some talk at school whenever a great game comes out like Zelda or Mario Kart, but otherwise nothing.

My first post.

Other posts of mine:

Alright, I've got one...

So, a Nintendo fanboy dies and, as you might expect, goes to hell.
He's thrown in the torture chamber and the demons turn up the temp to 300 hundred degrees. But when they let him out, they are surprised to see him smiling. "Just like Lethal Lava Land in Super Mario!" he exclaimed.
So, they threw him back in and set the temp to 500 degrees. But, when they let him out, he was practically laughing. "Just like Magmoor caverns in metroid!"
So, they threw him back in. One demon said to the other "If the heat isn't getting to him, maybe the cold will!" So, they changed the temp to negative 200 degrees. But when they let the Nintendo fanboy out, he seemed happier than ever.
"What? What could possibly be making you happy this time?" the demon screamed.
"Hell froze over!" The man replied. "Nintendo Revolution must be number one in sales!"

[...] during E3, we'll get a lot of "you can't appreciate [Revolution] til you play it" threads....

Then, after demo kiosks go out, we'll get a lot of "you can't appreciate it til you play it at home" threads....

Then after the rev is released, we'll get a lot of "we were all expecting sales to be slow it first, they'll pick up soon!" threads

Then, halfway through the rev's lifecycle, we'll get a lot of "I don't care about third party support/marketshare! All that matters is that we get great Nintendo games and that Nintendo is making some money" threads....

Then, towards the end of the rev's lifecycle, we'll get a lot of "it's okay, Nintendo will fix all their mistakes and do better with the rev 2" threads....

And then we'll get a lot of "I don't care if I have to buy an Xbox to play Nintendo games, cause all that matters are the games!" threads

And then we'll get a lot of "I don't care that Microsoft dissolved Nintendo, they were going downhill and, anyway, they were always overrated to begin with" threads....

Wow, I love the first couple pages of posts I ever posted on this board. I'm awesome. ^_^

Does anyone have that screencap of the who's online list right after Reggie's first ever E3?
*everyone with Reggie avatar*
They didn't even colude or anything, everyone just wanted to be Reggie.
