After the round table discussion I feel a little better about it all and I thought something that was fascinating was how much more Miyamoto is involved with Galaxy over how much he was involved with Mario 64! Kinda a shocker there.

Thanks for the support there Rachtman =) and yeah didn't Matt allude to some title being brought back from the "dead"? Oh well maybe at TGS?

Mayhaps Wii 2 will merely be a power upgrade with the same controls, allowing Nintendo to build upon what they already have without games seeming TOO dated.

I'm assuming you read about the same thing I read about today then...  :P

I really REALLY seriously hope that Camelot does in fact have a new Golden Sun in the works.  Whether it's for DS or Wii, I don't care.  I just want a conclusion to the awesome storyline that is Golden Sun.  Then after that, pull a Square-Enix and make Golden Sun Nintendo's "Final Fantasy".  I could see a long series just like FF created out of that style of RPG.  Golden Sun rocks!

Well according to the Takahashi brothers, the GBA games are just an INTRODUCTION to the story...That makes it all the more depressing they haven't touched on it in so long... =(

Oh gawd, that is true.

They need to just ditch that online golf stuff they're doing and focus on making Golden Sun the best RPG experience ever.

I'm dead serious in wanting this RPG series to be long-running just like Final Fantasy.  Camelot could do amazing things with it.  All the characters have great personality.  Far better than some FFes I've played.

I would LOVE to see Golden Sun become the flagship RPG for Nintendo consoles. The two games were so awesome with characters that were memorable, graphics that were fantastic and music that is beautiful.

It's a wonderful series and certainly deserves to be continued.

Could you imagine that if it all became reality?

The main Final Fantasy series, Dragon Quest series, AND the brand new flagship Golden Sun series... ALL on Nintendo's console....

Gah, I think I just asploded.  o_O

Golden Sun Rules, I'm hoping that Nintendo pushes Camelot to do more with the series on the Wii. There is a ton of potential for it and there is no reason it shouldn't continue.

Though I do have to ding Golden Sun a little.  In either of the games if you had to set it down for any length of time and come back to it you be pretty much lost on what you were doing and where you needed to go next.

That is true, Ceric.  And that's why I love RPG's that keep a "journal" of sorts ... to catalog your travels.  Pokemon does this, why can't more?  Just keeping up with  say the last three major steps would be enough.

"Well Zelda does need a bit of an overhaul, the formula is getting repetitive and I think TP was the perfect game to wrap up the 'Old' Zelda."

Honestly I think had Nintendo not stuck so close to the Ocarina of Time blueprint with TP it wouldn't have seemed so "samey".  When Nintendo got backlash for Wind Waker I think they grossly misinterpreted it to mean "we don't want change ever" (which is also I think what they assume core gamers want).  The problem with Wind Waker wasn't that changes were made but rather that the specific changes were controversial.  Some people didn't like the new look.  That doesn't mean ANY new look is bad just that THAT one wasn't so hot.  Same with the big ocean of nothing.  That was something I didn't care for but it wasn't because Hyrule was changed it was because it was changed into something boring.  An important skill of a game developer when dealing with customer feedback is determining what they're REALLY asking for and what they REALLY like and dislike because often they don't know exactly how they feel or at least don't communicate it properly.  Making an incredibly cliche and predictable Zelda like Twilight Princess was probably not the correct response to Wind Waker feedback.
