Well, things just got better.

If you "beat the average" with your payment, three more game have been added to your Humble Bundle V purchase:
  • Braid
  • Super Meat Boy
  • Lone Survivor
I know these games aren't that new, and many people probably already own some/all... but adding more games only makes an attractive package even sexier.

Ironically I don't own any of them.  I already went in above the average.  Will they just show up in Steam for me or something?  Anyone know?

I've never used Steam, but they just appeared on my downloads page without any effort or action on my part. Not sure if you need to activate something to get Steam keys or if they just show up automatically...

You will need to get another Steam key from the Humble page linked in the e-mail. Non Steam downloads appear automagically. So if you have [aid above the average you should have 3 Steam Keys.

I didn't own a single game from the list so it turned out to be a great deal for me.  A lot of these games I never would have paid a dollar for by themselves just because I wasn't very interested but I was interested in trying.  Amnesia and pschonauts pushed me to pick it up and the rest are just bonuses.  I'm glad I decided to go one cent over the average now that these new games are out.

I was playing Super Meatboy last night from this and my son came up.  He has decided that the Fetus is a piggy.  Meatboy is just a boy and Bandage is his Girlfriend.  Dodged a bullet there.  I wasn't going to correct him and if he ask what Meatboy is its going to be a sponge filled with red paint.

The characters aren't exactly designed in a way you can tell what they are.

I had no idea the guy that punched your girlfriend was a fetus until this post.  I just thought he was some dick in what I assumed was a robotic suit.  If it wasn't called Meat Boy I wouldn't even know the main character was made out of meat, I would probably think he was a giant turd because of the crap you leave on everything you touch.

It tells you at the start of the game.  Luckily my Son can't read.

I just added the extra games, this turned out to be a great deal. I just  bought cave story+ and bit.trip runner right before this bundle because of a steam sale as well, decided i might as well just start an indie game backlog at this point, since i now have 10 of them (although i already played psychonauts on ps2)

This has been an awesome bundle.  I own Braid & Super Meat Boy, and although I don't own Lone Survivor, my backlog is so large that I'm not sure if i'll ever get around to it.

I guess I'm saying is would anyone like my steam key for Braid, Super Meat Boy, & Lone Survivor?  Or will Steam recognize that I already downloaded the original 5 games from the bundle and not validate on someone else's steam account?

As long as you haven't used the new Steam key, you can freely give it to someone else. Humble bundle and the Steam key is in no way tied to each other other than only giving you one key and it will know if you have used it. With these bundles if you already own a copy, it will not give you another copy as a gift for games you already own. This is oposite from other bundles directly from Steam where extra copies are regift-able.

So don't use the key if you want to give it to someone else. E-mail/PM them the key

Well, with finances lightening up a bit of late (though just a bit), I found myself able to spare the funds to both increase my Twilight Zone Pinball Kickstarter pledge and match the average donation (+ $.01) on the HIB V, so I've done so.  Currently downloading Bastion, Lone Survivor, Amnesia, and Super Meat Boy.  I don't know when'll get around to playing them though.  Between Gravity Rush releasing tomorrow for my Vita; all the games Sony recently put up for free on PS+; and a little game you may have heard of called "The Last Story", my gaming time is pretty booked for quite some time now.

Sometimes I feel guilty about making donations that just exceed the average instead of paying what the games are "worth". Then I realize that most of the HIB games I own never get played anyway due to limited gaming time - probably between 1 or 2 per bundle, if that.

Bastion alone will make this bundle worthwhile for me, with any games after that one being gravy. And getting  the soundtracks is a pretty darned cool bonus.

I've played most of the games in the bundle and my impressions so far are:

Bastion:  Cool.  Its been enjoyable but I need to hook up my gamepad for this from now on because it is just missing something using the mouse and keyboard.  The voiceover is great.  One worth getting outside the bundle.

Limbo:  Great beginning with the spider and later bumping into the people but it quickly becomes repetitive and just another physics platformer halfway through.  Unacceptable for such a short game.

Super Meat Boy:  Decent play-for-a-few-minutes-at-a-time platforming but way overrated.  In the hospital level it commits the ultimate sin of platformers by having pipes that stick out that look like you can jump on the them but instead are just part of the background despite not looking like it at all.  In general I'm not a big fan of the constant wall jumping in the game since I seem to  be on walls more than actually on solid ground but some people may like that part.

Psychonauts:  Played on xbox already.  Amazing.

Superbrothers Sword and Sorcery:  Great look and sound but otherwise has a lot to be desired.  Maybe I just haven't found the control settings yet but so far it makes me click and hold to move the character around.  It behaves basically like an adventure game, I shouldn't have to hold the mouse down the whole time.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent:   Extremely scary and atmospheric.  I haven't been this scared by a game or movie in years.   The story is well told through journal entries and notes and the lack of combat is a breath of fresh air.  The only downside so far is that I didn't run into any monsters for the first hour and a half.  I was freaking out because I was ready for one but it never came until I got to the water.  I know that they are around before that point because I got a message on my screen but never saw anything.  I think I was just lucky/unlucky not to bump into one but it made my first time playing a bit anticlimactic to not run into anything.  I have since run into a few and hiding in the closet while it breaks down the door to find you is terrifying.

Braid: Impressions when I get to it.

Lone Survivor: Impressions when I get to it.

I strongly agree.  It's a solid game, and I can see how some people would really enjoy it.  But for me it's one that I played a few levels, and after the second set of stages really didn't care if I played more or not.  Definitely a love-it-or-leave-it affair.  I'm in the second group.

Edit:
Of course, I get the same feeling from a lot of indie games. Far too many are good games but not great, clever but missing the fun, or beautifully stylistic but sadly shallow. Almost always, "indie" means a flawed but interesting in my experience. That's part of the reason I love the Indie Humble Bundles though - get a bunch of the most popular games for cheap, and play what you want for as long (or short) as you want.
