Is it any good? I played it once like 6 years ago and was wondering if I should give the series a shot.

It's not just good. It's made by Miyamoto.™

Speaking of which, has anyone seen this qoute from last year's E3?

Quote
...Game designer legend Shigeru Miyamoto said, “We need new game characters soon, maybe we can move forward on that next year,” when asked about Nintendo’s next title.

How do I not remember him saying that...

Should I get the Gamecube, or Wii version?

I played it on GC a long time ago, but I heard the Wii brings it back in all its former glory with added enhancements.

Pikimin is one of those weird Miyamoto games that is flat-out addicting.  Recently, my Microsoft fanboy cousin started playing Pikmin for the first time ever on the Wii.  He said he's been hooked on it like no other game he's had recently on his 360.

Even crazier is Pikmin 2 is 10 times better than the original...IMHO.

This is a game I went through all of the Gamecube era saying I should pick up.  Still don't have it.

I absolutely love Pikmin. I actually imported the European version of New Play Control Pikmin 2. I really hope we get an official announcement of a new one at E3; I don't care if it's Wii or 3DS, as long as it's there.

Pikmin stands tall with Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Pokemon. Get it.
