For a REASON.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Yeah, that's actually a Zelda game, different genre and way better production values, you know.

People are forgetting Chicken Shoot, Target Terror, Nerf N-strike, and the shooting gallery modes of Rayman Raving Rabbids series, Medal of Honor Heroes 2, and Wii Play.  There's even a little time travelling WiiWare shooter series in Japan.

Did you forget Wild West Guns?

Anyway, the railshooter is way overrepresented compared to other genres.

The railshooter is way over-represented compared to HISTORY.

NEVER, ever, has a console been able to bring this much rail-shooting goodness home. What you think of over-represented is really just the home market catching up to "adequate."
