I'm playing a guy who refuses to forfeit, so I decided I'd have some fun.  =)

He could still win...by win I mean make it near impossible for you to win.

That's only if I go for making the rest of the pawns into queens.  If I wanted to, I could checkmate in a max of four combined moves, minimum of two.  I've already skipped the opportunity several times, though.

It will almost be harder for you not to accidentally check mate your opponent than to purposely check your opponent.

Stalemate
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Right, but the fact is, unless I don't pay attention, I can keep him from being in that position.  Like I said, there's two different paths he could take right now, and if I chose to, I could checkmate him for sure in either path.  Crimm was wrong.

Not exactly wrong.  I don't think there is any logical way to get a true stalemate.  But he could have just prolonged the agony by being careful with his moves so long as to frusterate.

I thought if the king moves 11 times after having no more pieces that it's a draw?

Anyway, I'd love to play you thatguy. I use to play all the time back in day (highschool). When there was a night with nothing going on we would sometimes whip out the chess board and bet on games (for beers, greens, and what not). Always a good time.

Just to clarify, we'd play timed chess.

If that's true, he's still got a piece.  As far as timed chess goes, I've never played in that manner, so I'm almost certain you'd win.  This snapshot was only made possible because my friend made about three or four bone-headed moves in a row, and I had as much time as necessary to take advantage of them.

well we played timed chess only to get the games moving along. I have actually played regular chess more often.

Oh, ok, I misunderstood you.  In that case, try this:  www.itsyourturn.com

Make a profile, then challenge me to a game.  My name there is pretty simple: thatguyjr

It'll let me know when you do.
