D3Publisher of America Ships Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire™ Exclusively for Nintendo’s Wii™ System

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--D3Publisher of America, Inc. (D3PA), a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, today announced that Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire™ has shipped to retail stores across North America. Designed specifically for the Wii system, Dragon Blade is a 3rd person action-adventure game where players unleash the magical powers of a fierce dragon, creating a unique and visually stunning weapon through their sword and arms. Players will utilize an intuitively designed, two-handed Wii control scheme and use both arms simultaneously to emulate the dragon’s arms, wings, tail, fire-breathing head and more as they embark on an epic fantasy adventure in more than 20 unique environments in 5 visually stunning worlds. Dragon Blade is available for the suggested retail price of $39.95.

“Gamers have been asking for fun, original games on the Wii and D3PA has answered their call with Dragon Blade," said Alison Quirion, vice president of marketing, D3PA. “Dragon Blade stays true to its game design roots by focusing on the pure beat-em-up, arcade style action that gamers love while taking full advantage of the Wii controls to achieve as close to one-to-one motion as possible so players will truly experience the action like never before."

Featuring an original story by Richard A. Knaak, one of the best-selling authors behind the immensely popular DragonLance series as well as other popular series based on Warcraft, Diablo, and the Age of Conan, Dragon Blade immerses players in a compelling storyline and richly detailed fantasy worlds. Players will use their dragon powers and hundreds of combat options to battle colossal enemies and embark on quests to upgrade their weapons and make them even more powerful over time.

Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire was developed by LAND HO! Co., Ltd and the game is rated “T" (Teen – fantasy violence) by the ESRB.

I'm thinking of picking this one up even though I know that it is going to be slaughtered by many reviewers, it's going to get an average of 65% on gamerankings, just you watch.

Surprisingly I would trust Kairon if he recommended the game to me.

No you won't. You haven't forgiven me for Dewy's Adventure yet.

I don't know exactly what genre it is but I recall previews saying it'd be a good game if the controls didn't suck so bad. Let's hope they fixed that for the retail version.

It is an action game and looks good from what I've seen.  The complaint that I've seen the most was that the game didn't have a budget big enough to make the worlds look like the multimillion dollar games that are released now.  I smaller developer with a new control idea, it is exactly the people we should hope come to the Wii.  I'd pick it up if I could, the sword and dragon controls look great.

Apparently the controls were very unresponsive in the preview builds.

This game has gotten no attention, and I'd like to see some reviews. Puzzle Quest came out of nowhere and I'm optimistic here.

Stop trolling.

From IGN:

The controls are tight and responsive, but controlling the camera is a little fiddly. By default, the angle is set a good distance back and from behind your character's shoulder. However, you'll definitely find yourself constantly readjusting the orientation back behind with the C button every time you turn, because there's little in the way of auto-rotation.
