Well considering the Pokemon Stadium in Brawl is called Pokemon Stadium 2, I think it's very likely that the one from Melee will return.  I mean, it'd make no sense to call Brawl's level Pokemon Stadium 2 if it's the only Pokemon Stadium level in the game.  There has to be a Pokemon Stadium 1 in the game in order to have a 2.

I'm predicting they'll be about 12 classic stages in Brawl.  Yes I know they could easily include all of them but I get the feeling they'll only going to include the real popular ones.  Now if they include all of them I'll be very happy but I like to expect less that way I wont be dissapointed in the end like some of you might.

Some stages should be remade and just considered "new" stages, since they'd be revised versions of older ones. Other stages should be updated graphically, like some of the N64 ones. If the Melee ones weren't, I wouldn't be upset. But, I think that N64 stages could be upgraded, if not just a bit. I know they might lose some of their charm, but it'd still be nice. Although, leaving them as is would still be nice; as long as, they're there. But, that's just my opinion.

I personally loved the Peach's Castle level from the first one. I loved how the bumpers on either side would catch people who were smashed on occasion.

The only reason not to include all of them would be if some of the stages didn't work right with the new game, e.g. if there are impossible jumps.  Of course, that didn't keep the N64 Yoshi Story stage out of Melee.  Certain characters had a terrible time trying to get back from the furthest cloud, and the camera didn't zoom correctly, leaving part of the main platform off the screen if there was action on the clouds to the right.

It's hard to even remember some of the N64 stages now, but I'd like to see the return of Hyrule Castle, the Mushroom Kingdom stage with working warp pipes, the Peach's Castle stage with the back-and-forth platform, and the Pokemon stage.  I don't remember if I didn't like any of the N64 stages, but Melee's Brinstar Depths and Icicle Mountain are too badly designed to bother porting over.

You fail at wording out the world 1-2 song.

That's a ban-able offense!

What's the proper enunciation then?

Lol @ my name pronunciation

The way it you typed it out makes it seem like 4 notes and then it stops before going to the next chain of notes. With doo's it would look like doo doo doo doo do do or something. It's missing 2 notes. =)

Or at least it seems like it's missing 2 notes to me.

I want the Game and Watch stage simply because I thought it looked cool before Melee came out and I never got to play on it.  I also would like to have some of the event stages be selectable.  In particular some of the trophies and that stage from the Alien event match that was the rooftop of buildings.  I also wouldn't mind seeing Onett come back.

G&W stage was far too cramped and uninteresting, IMHO. We shut it off in the random selection and never played it again.

Making everyone 2D was a near effect, but the stage was still far too claustrophobic.

So awesome that entire minutes could be spent just looking at it, right?  Because the silly spinning stage had separated the fighters, and nobody was willing to lose a life just to get things moving again.

I do think, however, that the stage designs in Brawl not involving the characters being ON the actual stage and instead on platforms more akin to final destination and the other...stage which name I forget (it's like final destination only with 3 platforms where you can jump to . . . you fight the wire frame guys there . . . you know what I am talking about) is a clear indication that maybe they understand that the large majority of players stick with levels with a more "classic" layout then the others.

This is just a personal observation but I get the feeling they want players to play on nearly all stages and in order to do so many of them make you fight in front of the landscape on platforms as opposed to in the landscape.

To quote what Bill said earlier.

11 of out 16 known stages have fighting take place on an "actual level"

Most of the stages have actually taken place on actual locations themselves, not to mention a lot of them are very crazy this time, much more then Melee's stages were.  Just read what IGN said about the stages.

Each of the levels of course incorporate random elements from their world, so the castle from Fire Emblem will blow apart as AI begins to lay siege to it, while random Pokemon interrupt the action in Pokemon Stadium 2. Aside from these chance elements the levels also morph, changing from full-grounded worlds to sporadic floating platforms or shifting levels of ground. Level evolution looks to be a huge focus this time around, and it works wonderfully, as our free-for-all fights were not only about person vs. person survival, but also a constant battle for an ever-changing position against a world that - quite frankly - didn't seem to want us there. My personal favorite as far as levels go has to be the Bridge of Eldin from Zelda, as it's a no-BS flat world that allows for the purist face-off I play the game for. Of course you'll still need to watch out for charging warthogs…

As in Melee, the different game-inspired backdrops in Brawl change throughout the match. The difference is that in Brawl the permutations seem to happen much more often; something is constantly happening in the background while you're fighting, adding to the frenzied feeling of the matches. And not only cosmetically -- the environments are certainly more interactive than ever before, with changing platforms, screen movement, and even hazards. Take the lava-themed level from Metroid for example: The burning magma rises and falls, with the screen persistently scrolling to new formations of platforms. On occasion, a large wave of molten lava even pushes across the screen vertically from the left, reducing the safe area to a tiny lone platform -- with four players fighting to stay on it, things can get pretty hectic as you can imagine. Even small details, like the current match leader showing up on the scoreboard in the background of the Pokemon Stadium, are there for those who look.

So in reality, they're actually trying to make more stages crazy like Brinstar Depth and less simple stages like Final Destination.

Sorry I'm having a hard time conveying my point, maybe I should say this:

The foundation for the levels are more like the two stages I mentioned, with crazy elements added in. I think this creates a more uniform setting for the stages while at the same time allowing them to have unique and changing elements to them.

Maybe a better example would be the original Pokemon stadium. Where you have a normal stage with changing elements. I always liked that one as it started out normal enough then it just went and changed things up. Where as stages like Brinstar Depths was just a rotating rock and certain people dreaded it.

I love the direction it seems to be going in.

Rainbow Cruise.  The level was totally unfair for any character that didn't have decent height to his/her up + B move, but it still totally rocked the house.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I absolutely hated the scrolling levels.  They made the game too hard to plan a strategy and just made it about learning the level.

The only one I did enjoy playing was the F-Zero Side Scrolling racing level, and I would want that one to return in some form or another.
