LuigiHann: Are you sure about those figures? I remember the first month it was released in North America (March I believe) it only sold 30,000. This may have been one of the versions only, though (with or without the bongos). I haven't kept tabs after that, but if the numbers are right, it's great news.

 Fixed it for you

You see, this is why most people think Jungle Beat did bad, and a good amount of it is Matt from IGN's fault.  He posted the NPD numbers for the game sold WITH the Bongo's, which was only somewhere in the 30,000's and said that was the total.  He then went on to talk about how much of a bomb it was because of this and labeled it a failure right away which is why a lot of people think the game did horrible in sales.

Only poor Matt didn't realize that the NPD counted the game sold with the Bongo's and without the Bongo's as too different versions and gave them two separate numbers.  The game WITHOUT the Bongo's sold somewhere in the 20,000 and so the combined numbers where actually in the 60,000's for it's first month.  But like I said originally the game ended up have great legs and sold an average of in the 30,000's for the rest of 2005.

Lets see if I can get a history lesson going on here using the old Gamecube sales topic

Jungle Beat First Month
Total Sales combined are 62,873.

Jungle Beat Second and Third Month Sales
Sales of the game WITH Bongo's for second month are 38,379
Sales of the game WITH Bongo's for third month are 23,093

BlackNMild2k1 post NPD LTD number for all Gamecube Games as of June 2005
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat all versions combined is at 177,201

NPD LTD numbers as of August 2005
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat all versions combined is at 207,615

NPD LTD numbers as of September 2005
Jungle Beat all versions is at 216,415

Mario post top selling Gamecube titles of 2005 numbers
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat all versions combined sold 261,438 total copies here in North America in 2005

And there you have it, absolute proof that Jungle Beat was not a failure but actually did quite well.

Then there was the period when you could buy Jungle Beat w/ bongos for around $10-15 (which I happily did along with another set of bongos for $5 and Donkey Konga 1 & 2 as well), so it way well be over 300,000 and possibly above 400,000 by now.

Thanks for the research! I guess the game had legs, and that price drop to $20 couldn't have hurt..
