TalkBack / RE:Super Smash Bros. Dojo Opens

Anyone think it could be related to Konami in some way? As the only character unveiled that has no real ties to Nintendo is Snake...just a thought. Anyone want to look at Konami houses that had finished up near that time? And although it would be a departure, could this be something Kojima got involved in?

/my mind is all over the place today.

Let me make a point about people 'not needing' DVD playback anymore...

I also never understood the fascination with PS2/Xbox DVD playback. I had a DVD player, didn't need it. However, I finally got an Xbox on top of my cube and that allowed me to put my DVD player in my bedroom and Xbox on my entertainment setup in my living room. May not be as universal or greatest quality, but it gave me Options. Its been said before, 'whoopdey do, who cares...Lots of consumers do. Look at it how you may, but DVD playback wll garner more attention than you may think.

**giddy with excitement...this will be one hell of a week**

LOL. You mean the ESRB rating is teen?

According to Gamestop, the games MSRP is $29.99. Whether thats true or not (and we should hope it is) has yet to be determined.

Cripes! Peter Jackson looks like he t took lessons from Mary Kate Olson....I agree, looking rather "svelte."

/on the related note, yes, UbiSoft could make this a good game, so long as Vivendi-Universal doesn't cause problems.

Hmm...While I'm not certain which sites you read or are referring to, I happen to recall a number of sites that said the buttons were switched. While they also said its something that can be dealt with, you can't say you weren't warned

Yes, Ian, I agree in the sense that EA hasn't innovated that much...

But isn't  the creation of a program such as that (even sponsored by EA) better than no program at all? Having some sort of professional level schooling specifically designed for game dev is better than none...

Maybe its just me, but I think EA will have to step it up in the future. Some of my friends buy the game SIMPLY to have the updated rosters each year. But with the advent of online (mostly...) gaming, they are giving the people the ability to update rosters via the net. Unless EA begins innovating more (don't get me wrong, the new defensive playmaker controls rock) each year, I believe the sales will begin to fall off.

www.snkneogeousaconsumer.com....well, as an outsider I know where they could start making it more friendly...

Seriously...who wants to ever type that in? Makes you wonder about the intelligence of marketing people.

/on second thought, marketing people aren't intelligent. Duh.

Minna no (Hot Shots) Golf for the PS2 sold better with the offline original compared to its online sequel, claiming it's "proof that customers do not want online games."

So let me get this straight...Nintendo says that since a version sold better than another that nobody wants the lesser selling version? While my thoughts might bring up an extreme example, the basic rule applies:

Lets say Pokemon Fire Red sells 100,000 units more than Leaf Green....That must be proof that customers do not want Leaf Green...

All I am saying here is that just because something sells less that another doesn't mean its not desired, but that it just isn't desired as much.

don't only 10% of the tiny(relativly speaking) x-box audience use xbox live? The majority obviouslly don't care about online other than for email and research.

Like it or not, the Xbox is as -- or more-- popular here in America  than the cube, so I will ignore your tiny audience comment. While the figure is a relatively small (more than 10% though) number, all those users of Live did purchase the service as well as every game they play on it. As everyone knows that MSoft has lost money on the service as a whole, (a) some sources say its not as much as you'd like to believe and (b) they will be prepared to launch a solid money-making service come time for its new system.
