"Animal Crossing could be sort of a retirement home for a lot of Nintendo characters" -Greg Leahy

I think Captain Rainbow beat it to the punch! (edit: Gui got it!)

James built up adding laughs at the end of the New Business segment and then didn't do it! You could have added Karl and Stan's laughs to the show. I'm sure they derive great amusement from RFN, the once every five years they listen to it because Jonny forces them to.

Don't forget Mop It Up! :)

*alarms sound everywhere* *multi-colored lights flashing*

Hold on, Cupcake! We'll make it! Thought for sure Luigi Dude was the dude. How wrong I was! Oh, the humanity! Vote GK

To think that GK could be Dark Samus. I gave it the best drinks I had, on the house! Sure, it had turned to vinegar by the time I served her (whatever , but waste not, want not!

Someone get this man another Guinness to shut him up!  :o :-X

Someone needs a drink? We serve only the best for the least, here on Planet Outlaw! Cupcake! Attend to the mild-mannered green gentleman!

*wipe, wipe, wipe* Bar Keepers Friend. Keeps the place looking mirror-finish good, I have cases of it. A barkeep on Planet Outlaw needs all the friends they can get. I wonder what's the waitresses friend? Fat stacks via tips? Sounds fit for one of those long philosophical conversations Cupcake and I have while waiting for the bandits to finish their looting so we can get home.

The Planet Outlaw Federation of Space Pirates and Bounty Hunters Convention starts soon (chamber of commerce's latest attempt to appeal to everyone). Rumors have been swirling for days, but not all rumors are created equal. Some say the positively feline Mop It Up could be a fed or a killer. I could see it. I wonder if they're willing to break cover to prove otherwise?

Before Samus Aran flew away for the last time, she told me over a cup of hot cocoa that her spidey-sense was squarely on Luigi Dude. A killer using the cover of the federation to commit their crimes. A bad dude as they say in the old arcade games, Ain't we got enough trouble with the space pirates tearing stuff up? Maybe Dark Samus would be interested in causing some well-deserved chaos among some corrupt troopers?

Vote Luigi Dude for now

Yeah, where can a bloke get some mulligan stew around here?

You can always count on a piping hot bowl of mulligan stew at Planet Outlaw's finest establshment, ShyGuy!  Get in touch with your Irish roots! Cupcake and I will be wearing green in your honor!

Vote BeautifulShy

Leaving the federation and space pirates to fight among themselves so she can return to her research on raising non-killing metroids. Leaves a tear in this harried barkeep's eyes.

*wipes the counter* 'Nother day ahead of tending the bar. Seems like I get busier all the time. More time spent cleaning up broken glass than serving drinks though. Who would have thought a planet named Outlaw would be filled with such raucous characters?

My waitress, Cupcake, complains about her tips. These brigands gotta be cheap on top of their vandalism! Still, things may pick up soon. Keep hearing rumors about bounty hunters, federation  soldiers and space pirates coming here. Convention, maybe? The Brigandia Chamber of Commerce is always trying to drum up business by hook or by crook.

Just another sign that Outlaw's getting more commercial. Hear there's some kind of contest associated with this gathering and we got to vote early and often to see who gets to go to the next level. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. Seems suspicious. I'll have to consult my friend, Jamison Jones, Esq. He's never steered me wrong!

I have to defend Justin. Clearly, he loves fun. It's just a different kind of fun! He collects so you don't have to. That ranges from Pokemon t-shirts to Korok seeds to Mario Kart Tour levels. He does it to save you the trouble and this is the thanks he gets? Watch when Ice Climbers gets a sequel on the Switch. Then we'll see who's Mr. Anti-Fun around here!

Reporting for duty! Will decide on roleplay later this week. Maybe I should relisten to the RFN where Jon plays Metroid: Samus Returns during the episode to get my head in the game so to speak. ;)

I won't be around for the last hour. In terms of voting, I don't seem to have much choice given the circumstances. A tie seems to mean the end for me. Vote pokepal148. I don't know if his vote against me is firm or if he's just following BeautifulShy's lead at the moment.

Forgive my late arrival. Only just got back from Roy Batty's memorial service. Touching. A true prince among androids! And I see the discrimination against living synthetic lifeforms continues! Two votes against me! Why? Because I'm a fashionable dresser? Because of those unfounded rumors that I won the Grand Prix due to illegal spoiler modifications? Let's not give weight to AI-generated news, people!

In self-defense, I'll vote BeautifulShy for now. That pokepal would join her, is a deep cut. Is not being a patron of NUR (Nintendo Universe Report) for the next month affected his perspective?

Being the first day of the races, it's hard to get a true feeling on anyone, but I'm wondering about Lucario. He seems to have fallen in with bad company. Keeps talking about blue shells and lightning bolts. Plus, he keeps styling my mustache to look like his!

Mr. EAD, piloting the Great Star, reporting in!

Warning! Lots o' text

At the beginning of the game, I thought it would be nearly impossible for the third-party to win. Just seemed like the mafia and town had too many inherent advantages.

Silenced trying to rouse votes against me worried me a bit. Enough that I messaged Stratos to see if his offer of a vote was still
available. I asked him to vote against Silenced. I gave him a second choice for lolmonade, but like I told Stratos, that was based on nothing but Khush's reasoning. I must not have been reading the topic closely enough, since I later realized that Stratos had voted for Silenced already. :p

At the beginning of Day 3, I found out that Steefosaurus had a Neapolitan role. I assumed he was Town, since we had already gotten rid of stevey, who had the Neapolitan role as well. I assumed there wouldn't be two mafia with that same role. But with Khush and Stratos (who I only then knew was 3rd Party) out of the game, leaving just two 3rd Party left, things looked grim. I didn't know much and it seemed like almost everyone except the Mafia didn't have much info either.

But then, like Gandalf the White coming with the dawn at the Battle of Helm's Deep, Silenced came riding with Hope. Being a mason, he knew that lolmoande and me were 3rd party and PMed us. I thought of the possibility of a trick, but it seemed doubtful and since I had to take a real risk at some point, lolmonade and me got together with Silenced to strategize.

So thanks to Silenced, I knew lolmonade was the Killer and there were three 3rd Party again! I already knew that ThePerm was a townie, but Silenced knew he was the Town Vote Changer, so that would be useful for later. And since lolmonade and insanolord both claimed to be vanilla townies, we knew The Browns #1 Fan had to be it.

At that time, I felt that mafia had to be one of the following four: nickmitch, ShyGuy (sorry for the suspicion, pal! Blame Khush!),
oohhboy and Lucario.
I figured ShyGuy was the Doctor, but Khush's theory about mafia targeting/protecting itself raised a little doubt.

Lolmonade's idea was that he was on borrowed time, so let's sway the vote to target oohhboy and take out as many as we can while he's the killer. We asked Silenced to see if ThePerm could convince him not to save insanolord from death by inaction, but to change someone else's vote.

Later that afternoon (realize all this plotting took place on the sacred day of the 19th anniversary of the PS2's US release date or as I best remember it, Majora's Mask Day), I suggested the Killer go after Lucario (for lack of knowing the hierarchy) and that I would investiagte nickmitch and ShyGuy during the night. That confirmed nickmitch as mafia, but since ShyGuy took no actions, I learned nothing more. :p

Day 4 was like Miyamoto had upturned the teatable! ThePerm decided to take out Steefosaurus who should be dead, but was not, Lucario dead but took out The Professional lolmonade. Turned out ShyGuy was not the Doctor and was now dead. And Silenced was offed a second time, now by Saruman, I mean, the Mafia.

Things looked pretty black then. I went from 2 allies to none! Due to the G-Virus, I asked lolmonade, just for confirmation that he had changed sides (not which side). He said he had. At the time, I thought he changed to the Town. I knew nickmitch had the G-Virus as well and figured he would turn to 3rd Party or Town upon his death.

So I reached out to Steefosaurus. I thought it was likely he had become 3rd Party, but wanted to see what he would say. I think he was a little confused about what made roles change and how the viruses worked. He didn't pepper BeautifulShy with a hundred questions and read and reread the rules and roles topic like I did.

So I finally just laid out my stragety for winning. Vote out nickmitch (despite various warnings from nickmitch and the Encriptor). I thought or hoped Steef had some killing abilities, so I asked him to target ThePerm since oohhboy couldn't harm anyone and that would get rid of the player that can alter the vote. I invesigated oohhboy and steef just to confirm things. That lead me to discover that Steef was the jailkeeper (and then reading up on what the JailKeeper did) and nothing on oohhboy because Steefosaurus protected him that night?

Day 5 showed it was two versus two, so my strategy was to vote out oohhboy and jailkeep lolmonade to keep him from killing us. But depending on how the mafia voted, that could throw things off. Steef voted first and then I waited to vote until the last minute seeing what the mafia would do. Turns out they didn't vote.

Then it was just making really, really, reeaaaallllly sure that Steefosaurus jailkeeped lolmonade during the night since he was
leaning towards oohhboy. So Steef saved me from the last mafia hit and it was on to victory!

This was a crazy and always interesting game. I've never went high and low as many times in one game before. And without Khush to help, I had to up my game!

Many thanks to BeautifulShy for answering my endless questions! :)

Leon is avenged! Was the Watcher not watching when they should? I thank the doctor for his aid. A spy needs the best medical attention to survive in the field. Now the time has come to topple the Umbrella Corporation!

Vote lolmonade

Leon's death must not go unpunished. I must have vedetta!

vote oohhboy

Beloved Princess? Is that what they call president's daughters these days? Hmmpf! One more step closer to monarchy!

There is an old Chinese proverb that says that one who returns from the grave speaks with double knoweldge. I'm particualrly interested in hearing from the Four-time Razzie nominee, Milla Jovovich. I'm a big fan! Perhaps we ladies could multipass to victory!

A good agent learns from many sources and most of them are pointing to nickmitch. Therefore,

Vote nickmitch

Leon? Leon!! I told him ballistics were dangerous. Especially blondes.

I just wanted to see a triple tie since I don't know if that had happened before in a mafia. No real motive beyond that. Though with stevey having to be voted out by the Double Voter, it makes me wonder if this was at the behest of a certain mod, a continuation of the vedetta as old as time, Beauty and The Beast, I mean, Skeletor and He-Man, uh, that is stevey and Khushrenada.

As for Steefosaurus, I love you baby! But unless the Hellboy is Ron Perlman, I'm not interested. I'll be there for your starring turn in Monster Hunter, I promise!

A girl's gotta protect her back, especially when she's out of her deep-diving suit, so I'm provisionally voting Silence. I'm willing to change my vote if Silence changes theirs or someone comes up with a good argument for voting for someone else.

From past RFN history, we know that Jon would name his son Tito.

Sigh. Another day, another mission. This mission is codenamed "Story". Murkier than usual. Talk about vague. Give a gal something to go on! Is anyone what they seem? Is Leon still my friend-with-benefits? So many unanswered questions.

Vote Stratos

Triple-tied vote. I learned from a Russian "friend" that votes should be as confusing as possible. Wonder if that theory works in practice.

I just recently joined after lurking for 11 years. I just wanted to say I've got a bone to pick with Jon Lindemann. 8.5 for The Conduit? Too low, my friend! An alien dressed as a president (or was that Perfect Dark?) should be worth a 9.0, at least.

This game looks amazing, BeautifulShy! I'll have lots of reading up to do to make sure I understand how the game works. I'm definitely in!
