TalkBack / Re: Circle Pad Pro XL Photos
« on: April 23, 2013, 07:30:25 PM »
Hmm.. I didn't really like the original Frankenstick.. but then again, I didn't like the original 3DS all that much either. (I feel like the 3DS XL just worked better with my hands, and it felt like a more perfected product imo. Along with the 90% bigger screen that made my poor eye sight less of an issue.) But from the short time I spent with the attachment on the original, I have to say that it didn't wow me. It didn't add anything to my gaming experience. So unless I have a friend who owns this and lets me try it out, I think I'm going to have to pass on this one.

It looks like neither is shaped much like an X, but both seem to be living-breathing Ys... I see what you're doing Nintendo.. You want us to ask why? Why has it taken so long for a full-3D installment in the Pokemon series to come out? In all seriousness, I was actually waiting a really long time for this to actually happen. I needed something totally new to get me interested in this series again. My Pokemon-Education stops a little before Ruby. And I say a little before because I never actually finished the game..  I know.. shame on me and all that jazz. The game was solid in it's own right, but personally I just wanted something different. Black and White 2 almost made me jump.. almost.. Here's hoping this game brings the original magic back for me, and something new and innovative at the same time. In all honesty.. I just really want to catch a 3D Pikachu and poke it..

I don't know what I'd do without this podcast... I can't play games anymore without listening to some sort of gaming podcast, and more often than not, it's RFN  ;)

Dare I say it.... This might very well be the killer app for the Virtual Console man! The only thing I could see topping this would be the pokemon classics, but even then you would have a debate. All I know is this game sold boatloads way back when, and I assume it's gonna do just fine in the Eshop.

Good job Nintendo, good job indeed.

TalkBack / Re: GBA Ambassador Games Available in Australia and Japan
« on: December 15, 2011, 01:11:06 PM »
Yeah.. not feeling the whole "You don't deserve these games" talk. I believe that early adopters absolutely deserve these games. Yes it was their choice to buy the system at launch, but listen to what you're saying here, you are telling early adopters, (hard working people just like you and me, and die-hard Nintendo fans just like you and me) that the piece of hardware they bought just a a few months earlier, and before the price drop, that they don't deserve these games? A system that had no internet browser, no e-shop, and only a few notable titles to decide from? I'm sorry, but that is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. The people are not to blame for putting their faith and dollar into the company. If any faith is lost in a company from the consumers point of view, it is the companies obligation to set things straight. We have every right to these games, and I won't be told otherwise.

Now as to the whole whining and crying over NoA not announcing these games availability yet, that is indeed stupid I agree. NoA is going to release these games soon, getting them right now will not make a difference then getting them two days from now. NoA has actually made me happy with their latest announcements.

TalkBack / Re: Third Party Titles Now Including Club Nintendo Points
« on: November 29, 2011, 02:52:22 PM »
I never thought we would see the day. But you know what, this could potentially be very good publicity for Nintendo. This could be looked at as some form of respect from Nintendo to the 3rd party devs.  It's a "We respect your product as much as our own" kinda thing. I really wish this was had happened sooner.

Thank you Nintendo! Embrace the 3rd party, they WILL help you make nice with the "hardcore".

Soul Calibur 2 to this day, is my favorite fighting game (not counting smash bros). I really hope we get to see Link return to the world of Soul Calibur on the Wii U or 3DS. The series I'm told hit a little rough patch, but is now on pace to bring it all home again. We want LINK!

TalkBack / Re: Euro Downloads Round-Up - November 17, 2011
« on: November 17, 2011, 05:57:18 PM »
Not gonna lie, but I'm getting a little frustrated with Nintendo releasing only 1 (or sometimes none) VC game per week.. I know this is for Euro, but most of the time it translates to what we get over here in the states. I don't understand the point in only releasing 1 game per week. Maybe I'm being slightly cynical here, but I feel like Nintendo is purposely doing it sometimes, just to avoid putting the lesser titles up against some bigger ones in the portable library. Maybe they're worried the smaller games won't sell as well if they did? They might just be doing that, knowing that a lot of gamers will just impulse buy whatever game is available that week. (Almost did that with Golf... lol)

TalkBack / Re: New Zelda Game Heading to 3DS
« on: November 06, 2011, 09:41:06 AM »
I feel like a majority of these comments are expressing that they actually WANT voice acting in Zelda. I really thought there was a bit more skepticism in that area of Nintendo games, especially Zelda. I guess I'm wrong though..

But regarding the voice acting, here's what's wrong with that, (not everyone's opinion, but the idea itself) people are going to bitch. Whether you like it or not, you know this to be true. Don't forget about Other M.

Now, where do I stand on voice acting in one of Nintendo's most iconic series? Well allow me let you down softly. I personally, do NOT want Link to be voiced by anyone. Not even someone that was handpicked by Miyamoto-san himself.

Now, before any of you reply in rage, please let me explain myself. I genuinely feel like there is so much mystery to the character that is Link, and that the mystery is a good thing. And I never want that taken away, nor do I want someone to say, "Hey, here's who link is, here's what WE say he should sound like, and any particular view or characterization you might of had of him, is irrelevant now."

I don't know about you, but I would politely tell that person to F' off. As gamers, I feel we are entitled to our own artistic license. In other words, we should be able to imagine something in the way WE want to, not the way we are instructed to. Don't tell me how Link "should" sounds like, because he's never not had a voice to me.

Now as far as the world Link explores, and the people he interacts with. I am not against that. Some people might use the same argument I expressed above for the supporting cast of Zelda, but for me personally, I wouldn't mind those people being voiced. It would solve one problem discussed above "reading while cut-scenes are happening." You wouldn't have to worry about that anymore. Because A. Those people would have voice acting, and B. Link wouldn't be talking anyways.

That is one option I see as a possible win for both sides. Anything else seems unfair, and an insult to us as fans. "You're not smart enough to imagine the character of Link, so hey! We'll do it for you!"

Don't want to be a kill joy, but no thank you.

If anyone is curious about Balloon Kid, imagine Balloon Fight as a platformer and then ask yourself if that would a good thing.

Ahaha! My thoughts exactly. Looking at a youtube video, I can see my thumbs getting worn out in about 10 mins.

There's nothing here that interests me. When are they gonna put up things from the SNES? (And you can't say the 3DS doesn't have the ability to handle it because if the Game Boy Advanced could than the 3DS can). I only ask because I'd love for Super Mario World to be put on there. (That was and is one of my all time favorites. I could sit there and play it for hours. I have it on the Wii, but I'd love to have it on the 3DS as well.)

About your SNES games on the 3DS point. Of course the 3DS can handle it. That's not the issue. I mean, the DS could handle it, and just like you stated earlier, the GBA could as well. So why would its newer hand-held counterparts have a problem?

Here's the thing about having SNES games on the system right now. Despite the ambassador NES games, this is still a "hand-held". Which is more likely to get "hand-held" VC games, rather than console VC games like on the Wii.

And yes, I know the Wii VC is experiencing a long drought, but it's still there, and the games are still available to purchase. That being said, I don't think we should expect to see SNES games become downloads anytime soon. GBA ports, such as Mario Bros. 3, (which if you're a 3DS Ambassador, you are getting) could be the closest thing we see to SNES games on the 3DS.

A little late, but I'll take it. Maybe with this update I can play games like DoA more regularly with friends. Good thing it's going to be here for Mario 3D Kart though, people would be ready to kill if they couldn't get their games going.

Now this looks like a game that was well thought out. I remember hearing about this and only seeing the concept art, and a few screens, but it really looks like it's coming together. More games like this please people who aren't Nintendo. There's a lot of wallets full of cash, just give us a reason for that cash to reach your pockets!

I also saw Arc of Sinners and thought "Wow!" But then I saw a review saying the game was broken and unresponsive in many places, and quite frequently glitching up. I really wish there was a demo I could try out to see these things myself, I'm not willing to risk 1000 wii points to do that sadly.

ON a side note, burger time looks like a good time! I think I might get that with my leftover 3DS points from my Mario Land 2 purchase.

I know there was talk about there NOT being a 3rd game to this collection on the DS, and maybe that's still very true. However, no one said anything about the 3DS.

Taking a second look at this, and the ports the 3DS has been getting, it would make perfect sense to kick off the Pokemon 3DS RPG series this way. A game that, for the most part, already has it's framework built. Now, the only thing I would have a question about if that were the case is, would a 3DS release be a direct DS port of Black/White? Or would it be a graphical overhaul of the series, with character models similar to the  Pokedex 3D app.?

Then again, maybe this domain name was registered just for the sake of being registered, and not allowing a independent fan game mod to surface.

Wow, this game looks like a good time.

I've heard some good things about WayForward, but having these be games made for the Eshop.. I kinda question the quality. Maybe it's just because I've never actually downloaded a game in this sorta way. It's always been in-store and a retail copy that I could hold in my hands. I just wish there was a way to try a game out before spending bills on it. But this really does look good, I'm impressed.

TalkBack / Re: 3DS Ambassador Confirmation Tool Available Now
« on: August 19, 2011, 07:26:33 PM »
For (at least) North America, DO NOT enter the last digit of your serial number (the one in the square box) into the toolbar. If you enter every letter/number of your serial, it tells you that you aren't eligible, but without that last one, it tells you that you are. I'm gonna call NoA to make sure I'm squared away even though it told me that I was eligible.

I'm confused... I entered EVERY digit and got the confirmation. I don't understand your argument. I also don't understand how it's possible to get the confirmation without every character typed in. Anyways, go ahead and call, but it worked for me. I think everyone should just type the number as they see it; then call Nintendo if it doesn't work out.
