Nintendo Gaming / RE:Some questions about the DS

yeah, i agree that there should be some type of menu for the system.

I woul d like to be able to customize my system in some way, like for multiplayer games to have my own created gamer name, kind of like how things are done in most multiplayer games on PC or Xbox Live

I like the custom robo idea, i really hope that the DS focuses a lot on the Multiplayer type games since i feel it will be easier to play against other people. I still haven't beat FF:CC or Four Swords Adventures cuz i can never get that complicated setup together enough.

Thanks for all the info, it looks like the backwards compatability features are real limited, thats a shame but i don't think ill mind much since most of the games i want to play multiplayer will be coming to the DS anyways, im sure we will see versions of four swords, advance wars and so on.

Mario Tennis

This one is a No brainer, wireless multiplayer, frantic teniis action, and for once each player can have the courtside view that they want!

Mario Golf

I loved toadstool tour, and i would have played it a lot more if it were portable.  Lets face it, the GBC version was great, the GBA version was OK.  I think that the DS could do a portable version of this game some justice

Starfox

Multiplayer co-op missions, 8-16 wireless dogfighting, there is so much fun to had with this if it is done right.

Mario Party

If all the GOOD stuff that came from the previous console versions with a dash of some REAL innovation is thrown into a solid portable version, id say we would have some fun with this one.

Final Fantasy Tactics

Please?.............

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Super Smash Bros DS, Can it be real??
« on: August 25, 2004, 07:27:40 AM »
bleh i don't want anything crazy with this smash bros, just give me lots of chars, levels, weapon, and options, also beef up everything that is multiplayer! Gimme all kinds of stats, tournaments, and what not. Make it all wireless and maybe even leave the possibility to play online.

Either way it will be awesome, i am sad that the combat system will suffer a bit because the amount and complexity of the moves wil be toned down since there is no analog stick gah! I do think they will have something special planned that will make it unique and fun though.

Whoa, you just gave me a thought, what kind of extra peripherals can we expect to come out for the DS? Here is my list...
1. Headset (possibly for voicechat)
2. Web Browser (we know there will be a way somehow)
3. Some form of cheat software
4. Some crazy assortment of cases and such

Any others that could be thought up? Maybe i should have started a new thread lol

i would be happy to have at least pictochat packaged in. I really like the "potential" of the DS since i plan on testing its ability to play multiplayer DS and GBA games. To me that makes it a real value since i will have so much to play and choose from.

Another rumor that I've heard is that there will be something similar to the GBA single pak-Link multiplayer modes for the DS. I would imagine it would be toned down but i still think it would be a good idea.

I am wondering if i will be able to play mariokart super circuit(GBA) wirelessly with other DS's and GBA(with wireless adapter) and even possibly be able to have all of them play on single pak mode. I highly doubt that the DS would be this versatile but if it was it would be so awesome. Remember that multiplayer mario bros game that's on every gba mario game. Me and my friends used to play that alot on single pak mode, i think it would be really awesome to be able to play that wirelessly with other gba's or DS's with only one copy of the game.

Though all this may be asking too much but i think that the DS should have THIS much versatility.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Nintendo Gaming / Some questions about the DS
« on: August 24, 2004, 08:15:43 PM »
OK Just some questions about this system that i would like cleared up.

1. Is the DS going to be able to play multiplayer games wirelessly with other gba's that will soon be equipped with a wireless adapter?

2. How reliable is the wireless networking going to be between DS hardware? Any ideas on the range?

3. Since there isn't anything solid as far as how this system will go online, it definetely has the technology for it, i would love to have the option to play online as well as wirelessly.  Is there any further information on how this will be handled?

4. I hear a lot of talk about headsets and voice recognition, does anyone know if there will some form of voice chat? (Like on xbox live and Socom).

5. Will there be anything included into the already awesome packeage that the DS is? I heard that Pictochat will be included software. I'm pretty sure that is just a rumor but I do hope that there will be SOMETHING included when you buy the system. Any information on this?

I know nintendo loves to keep things to themselves till the last minute but im really looking forward to the DS and its many features, if there is any good info sites other than this one that you could recommend to me i would greatly appreciate it.
