General Gaming / RE:HELP!!! S-Video help.....
« on: September 19, 2003, 08:35:46 AM »
Pelican is the brand I am using. I have tried TWO of them and they both do the same thing, the cables also exhibit this behavior on my buddies TV as well. I plunked down $35 for a monster cable today. If that doesn't work its got to be the game cube. I don't know what else it can be.

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube S-Video Help
« on: September 17, 2003, 06:49:24 AM »
I have a Samsung TV that I purchased about 2 and half years ago. It has an S-Video input. I have a gamecube with a 3rd party S-Video cable. When I try to play any games through the S-video mode on my TV, all of the colors are distorted by what looks like little digital blocks. All text, black and white, and gray appear fine. Whenever there is a block of color this distortion appears. The s-video on the TV is fine, I run my Satellite through that.

Has anyone seen this??? Does this mean that the cable is bad??? Do I need to spend $30 on a monster cable?

Nintendo Gaming / Has anyone had this problem with the memroy card?

Not all third party cards are bad! I have had a Nyko card for 6 months and it works beautifully. I have NEVER lost a game or ANY data.

I have had 1024 block card from Nyko for six months and haven't had a bit of problems with it. I would have to by 4 251 cards to save the amount of data I have. But i play a lot of sports games.

I actually took a whole week off playing because of the stupid Tri-Force hunt. Last night I finally got all 8 pieces and started Ganon's Tower. I don't think I would have finished the Japanese version.

I loved both movies. They both had a freaky Alfred Hitchcock feel to them. Both proved you didn't need Billion dollar special effects to make a good scary movie.

Hi, welcome to 90% of the fantasy games out there.

Your idea of the "Ghost Town", how is that different than Hyrule with adult link in OOT?

Not impressed.

Are they flawed, or is it just to get you to buy more memory cards, thus making Ninitendo more money?

Omen,

I thought a lot of things in that game were bugs too until I got used to playing it. It seemed the better I got the less "bugs" I noticed. I like it A LOT.

Buy a big card from Nyko. For 19.99 you get a card 1024 blocks of memory. Currentyly on my ONE Nyko card I have:

2 NCAA Dynasties (214 blocks a peice)
2 Madden 2003 Franchises
1 ASB2004 Franchise
2 Mario Party 4 files
1 BeachSpiker file
1 Zelda OOT File
1 Wind Waker File
1 Metroid Prime File

And I still have about 250 blocks left.

HEre is a link:

Well said canuck!!! I couldn't agree more and I completely resent the fact that a poster thinks the only people who play sports games are fat. I play real soccer and baseball. I love both, but like you said I cannot be good enough to make it to the pros. Sports games are my way of playing the MLB or makeing the World Cup.

I love sports games. I play Madden 2003, NCAA 2003, All Star Baseball 2004 and Beach Spikers!

Online play never really interests me. I would much rather have the people I am playing in the same room with me

I rented this game this weekend. Here is what I liked and didn't like:

Likes;
- Graphics are great, the attention to detail is amazing.
- Expansion mode, allows you to create a new team, draft reject players and try and take them the distance
- The batting interface, while hard to learn, is EXTREMELY effective once you get the hang of it.
- Overall feel of the game

Dislikes:
- Opposing team A.I. is unrealistic. I have never seen more amazing plays and diving catches in my life. Balls are easily caught even when they would be hits in real baseball
- Future throw. You have to pick what base your fielder throws to before he catches the ball. The problem is if you forget or don't pick the base in time he throws home.

Overall its a great baseball SIM. I will probably wait until it is under $30 before I buy it though.

My guess is that the game will be a RTS, where you control a large amount of ships in tactical battle. Thats just the vibe I get from it.
