Nintendo Gaming / More delays....
« on: March 10, 2003, 04:24:10 PM »
Well, I can understand why Wario World is being delayed. They’re going to polish it. As for F-Zero though: I’m really upset that it was pushed back. I was planning on playing it a lot over the summer…  At least Wario World is still coming out during the summer.

Well, I picked up Beach Spikers at Best Buy for $9.95 and it’s a really fun game. It actually is quite a deep game. While it’s a pick up and play game, it has a World Tour mode which is deep because you have a Teamwork rating which you need to keep up. So, if you have tens bucks to spend on a game, go with Beach Spikers!

Well, there are two different awards. Battlefield 1942 got game of the year from AIAS, while Metroid Prime got game of the year from GDC. So technically they both can have “Game of The Year” printed on their boxes.

I don’t know if you were referring to me, but I said that Metroid deserved more than what it got.

NWR Feedback / Happy 4th Birthday Planet GameCube!
« on: March 07, 2003, 12:05:48 PM »
Happy Fourth Birthday PGC!

I’ve been reading PGC for the last three years and have been part of the forums for one and a half years. I love PGC and I guess this would be a good time to thank you for all the work you’ve done. So, thank you!

Congratulations on your fourth birthday PGC!

I’m glad Metroid Prime won GOTY at GDC. Because in my opinion, Metroid didn’t get what it deserved at the AIAS awards.

Nintendo Gaming / Earthbound 2 Coming?
« on: March 06, 2003, 04:23:20 PM »
Thanks for the info Jonk.

I too would love to see a new Earthbound. Earthbound was so fun. Hopefully they’ll be an announcement at E3.

Nintendo Gaming / Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Playable Demo
« on: March 04, 2003, 04:35:23 PM »
I’ve played it a couple times (on my first try against the demo’s boss, I beat him). It’s really fun, and the graphics are amazing. One cool little thing is that my local Software Etc. has hooked up the Zelda demo to a Wavebird. So now I can play Wind Waker wirelessly.

Nintendo Gaming / E Gadd in another Nintendo game?
« on: March 04, 2003, 04:29:19 PM »
I have a better image of him on my computer and I just checked it. It’s character art of him. He has a very small resemblance to E. Gadd. The shape of his head and body are different. Also his glasses are a different color.

Nintendo Gaming / Wario Ware
« on: March 04, 2003, 04:20:57 PM »
Wow! The second I read the impressions I got really excited about Wario Ware! When I first heard about five second microgames I was a little hesitant. But hey, it sounds great!

Nintendo Gaming / Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life
« on: March 04, 2003, 04:02:32 PM »
I’m extremely excited about Harvest Moon (both GCN and GBA versions). I’ve always been a fan and always will be! Something that I think is cool (besides hybrid crops, over 40 characters and more to do) is that A Wonderful Life can link up with Mineral Town (for GBA) and you can visit Mineral Town on your ‘Cube (via A Wonderful Life).

Nintendo Gaming / Give me Mario Kart or give me death
« on: March 04, 2003, 03:55:33 PM »
Hmm… Miyamoto said that Mario Kart is too revolutionary to show, he laughed about a LAN games question and he doesn’t think (yet) online games will work. So… maybe Mario Kart will be a LAN game! I know people have said this already, but it all adds up. Even if Mario Kart isn’t LAN I’m still really looking forward to it!

Nintendo Gaming / Next Starfox Game Discussion

Even though it’s probably not the official Star Fox Armada site, it looks interesting. I can’t wait to see it when it’s done!

Nintendo Gaming / Does the rest of your family play the cube?
« on: March 02, 2003, 01:02:53 PM »
My dad and I always play First Person Shooters. Lately we’ve been playing TimeSpitters 2. Prior to that we played 007: Agent Under Fire and prior to that we played GoldenEye on N64. Also my dad watches me play. He seemed very interested in Metroid Prime. As for my mom she’s promised me that when she has time she’ll play.

Nintendo Gaming / Animal Crossing, what's soo good about the game?
« on: March 02, 2003, 12:55:50 PM »
I got Animal Crossing when it released (I preordered it) and I’ve loved it since. You can do whatever you want whenever you want. I do find it a bit repetitive, but when that happens I just don’t play for a couple of days.

As for AC compared to The Sims, I feel that AC is very different. I bought The Sims a while back and thought it was okay. But when I got Animal Crossing I fell in love with it instantly! One of the aspects of AC that The Sims doesn’t have is there is just more to do. You can play NES, go fishing, go bug catching, runs errands, design clothes and wallpaper, write letters, etc. Plus you can talk to neighbors and interact with them more. That’s why I think AC is way better than The Sims.

Nintendo Gaming / Dead Pheonix
« on: February 27, 2003, 04:12:41 PM »
Dead Phoenix looks very interesting. But I think it’ll be a rental first. While the idea of flying through a city in the clouds is cool, I’m looking forward to P.N.03 and Viewtiful Joe more. Of course if Dead Phoenix turns out to be very cool I’ll probably buy it.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo: no longer in Brazil!!!!
« on: February 27, 2003, 04:02:10 PM »
I feel sorry for Nintendo fans in Brazil. I’m actually very surprised that piracy is so high in Brazil. At least Gradiente Eletronica is still supporting the Nintendo systems already sold.

Another way for Nintendo to milk their franchises… I’ll probably buy some cards though.

As for the cards themselves, I’m sure Nintendo will release packs of them that unlock Pokemon (with or without special moves), new battles and probably items.

Nintendo Gaming / Mario Tennis GCN
« on: February 26, 2003, 06:52:46 PM »
I can’t remember where I read this (sorry!) but Mario Tennis is suppose to come out sometime this year. In case you care: Mario Golf and Mario Kart are suppose to come out this year too.

Nintendo Gaming / Rayman 3
« on: February 26, 2003, 06:41:40 PM »
Rayman 3 looks pretty good. But I think I’ll rent it first. It’s not like GameCube has a shortage of games.

Nintendo Gaming / PIKMIN 2 screens (and kirbys air ride screens)
« on: February 25, 2003, 04:06:48 PM »
Obviously these screens are of early builds and aren’t finished games, but so far they look good. Kirby’s Air Ride looks interesting. Maybe it’s Kirby meets Mario Kart. I say that because in one screen Kirby is wearing his sword outfit. He has to suck someone up to do that. So, racing with a Kirby twist. As for Pikmin 2, I’m a fan of the first one so I’m definitely looking forward to this game. The second astronaut (the blue one) is a little weird though.

BTW, I’m sure we’ll have more info on these games at E3.

Nintendo Gaming / PN03 Discussion
« on: February 25, 2003, 03:52:31 PM »
This game looks great. When I first heard about it I thought it might be a good game (coming from such a good game designer) but now that I’ve seen it in motion it looks great! Her dance moves are a little choppy though. Anyway, the nine different suites could turn out to be very interesting. Even though they look the same, one color might increase firepower while another increases speed. Or maybe the suites will be likes Samus’s suites. Of course I could be way off and all they do is change her look.

General Chat / Nintendo merchandise
« on: February 24, 2003, 03:27:35 PM »
You do know this isn’t the right forum, right? It should be in General Chat.

Anyway, I’ve gotten some Nintendo related stuff (mostly plushes) from UFO Catcher. I’ve ordered from them twice and both times they were fast and friendly. They have Animal Crossing, Mario and other Nintendo (and non-Nintendo) video game characters. These plushes are imported from Japan. Also for action figures there’s DieCastExpress.com. The link will lead you to the video game figures pages. These guys I’ve also ordered from twice and they too were fast and friendly. BTW, Die Cast Express sells Joyride Studio brand action figures. And of course for things like limited addition stuff, bobbleheads, toys that aren’t made anymore, imported stuff, etc. there’s Ebay.  I hope that helps!

Nintendo Gaming / Soul Calibur 2 Discussion!
« on: February 23, 2003, 07:30:30 AM »
After playing SC1 a bunch (I played it in Arcades, I never owned it) I’m definitely getting this! To me, Link being a playable character is just a little bonus compared to the game itself. I’m not going to import it though… I’m not that much of a fan.

When is SC2 coming out (in the US)? September?
