Nintendo Gaming / RE:looking for a good vga adapter
« on: September 18, 2004, 11:50:34 AM »
Arg, sorry, I just wish there was an easy way to do this.  I read the reviews from customers who purchased a vga magic box on lik-sang, and they seemed very pleased with it.  But I don't want to waste 50 bucks on something I don't know is going to work or not...

If I used deinterlacing, which is an option on the vga box I'm looking at, will the framerate of 60fps games take a big hit?  Or will they still resemble the smoothness that I experience I see when playing a game on my TV?  Sorry if I sound really confused about all this...it's because I am, haha.

Well I don't plan on trying to fake progressive scan on my monitor or anything, meaning that I have no intention of trying to get or play games in progressive scan.  I mean, I don't care about scanlines if they showed up, as long as they weren't too dark.  Are you saying there wouldn't be a way of just playing a game the way it looks on my tv screen?(well, sans scanslines, which I don't really care about).  The reviews from customers said that the magic box worked great, and delivered a very crisp image, comparable to that of a TV.

General Gaming / RE:Hooking up a GameCube to a PC Monitor
« on: September 18, 2004, 09:48:49 AM »
I'm looking for the same thing!  I just need a VGA adapter that will give me the same level of clarity that I get when I play my GC on a flat TV with Svid.  I've been looking at a few but I have no clue which one to get! I have no desire to get a proscan vga adapter because then it won't work with nonproscan games, and they're just way too expensive. Can anyone help us out here?  These are the ones I've been looking at.

Nintendo Gaming / looking for a good vga adapter

I'm looking for a good VGA adapter to connect my gamecube to my PC monitor. I'm looking at these three right now. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't know much about this and I'm having trouble finding good opinions on the subject online. I want to go by the reviews on the websites but for whatever reason I don't think they're completely trustworthy sometimes. If I use any of the following, will I get a sharp, clear picture? I'm not going for pscan, I just need to be able to play my gamecube on my monitor (17 in. crt) with s-video. Will it be as sharp and clear as it is on my tv? (note- i won't be able to use my tv pretty soon because its my roomate's and he's going to be needing it a lot)

Is there any single cartridge multiplayer on Pokemon R/S?  None of my friends are getting the game.

Nintendo Gaming / When the FLIP is Mario Tennis coming out?
« on: March 14, 2003, 05:49:27 PM »
It was revealed at last year's E3, and since have heard NOTHING about it!  It has to be almost done, I mean, the first Mario Tennis was developed really quickly.  Why is it taking so long?  Is Camelot just too busy with GS2 and whatever else they're doing to work on one of, if not their best franchises?

Sounds too expensive to me.  Let's just make really, really long cords, hehe.

Nintendo Gaming / GBA trade in deals
« on: March 14, 2003, 05:21:23 PM »
Does anyone know what most EB's are doing?  I want to get a GBAsp, and want to save a little money by trading in my GBA i have now (since I have no need for 2 gameboys, one of which is superior).  Does it matter if have the box or whether the screen is suffering from a little wear and tear (got it when it first launched)?

Nintendo Gaming / Pokemon R/S/?
« on: March 14, 2003, 08:28:44 AM »
When R/B came out, Yellow followed after some time.  When G/S came out, Crystal followed after some time.  Do you think we can expect a 3rd Pokemon game in the Ruby/Sapphire series?

I'm not really that into Pokemon (used to own Blue), but I remember it being fun and pretty addicting, and I never tried to be really good in it.  I figure if a 3rd Pokemon game comes out, I'll just wait.  Also, will the game be a lot different from RBY?  I hope I won't be lost in it, as I never owned GSC.

Nintendo Gaming / SP Concerns...
« on: March 14, 2003, 08:23:10 AM »
Are the buttons okay?  They look depressed and more difficult to press than the original GBA.

Is it too thin?  It looks uncomfortable to play because there isn't anything to really get a grip on.

Does the light wash out the image too much?  I slightly remember my GameGear from like, 10 years ago, and I don't remember the colors on it getting washed out.
