Nintendo Gaming / RE:REV's appearance and marketing
« on: May 16, 2005, 06:15:20 PM »
Since the REV will be the size of 3 DVD Cases and is known as "Revolution", Nintendo might as well release a special Edition system that looks just like NES with a cover that opens up just like the NES does to insert the Disc "NES style"  All of the buttons alignment should be similar to the NES as well.  You'll have the Power button and next to it you'll have the Reject/Reset button.  Press the Reject/Reset button slightly and you'll reset it, press it all the way and it'll reject the disc.  For now lets just call these buttons, P and R.  To the right of the P&R buttons, you'll have the sensory controller ports for the wireless controllers.  Then you'll have the typical Grey and Black color tones.  Do we have any artists out there that can whip out such an image?  This is how I envision my next Nintendo console to look like.  What's your thought?

"I just dont think its that great "
Your personal opinion.  However, the game is consider as an RPG and a great one at it.  Yeah, the battle system isn't as deep as Final Fastasy but the pokemon collection part is far off in its own style.  If you considered Pokemon being old then perhaps, Final Fastasy and the industry shouldn't even be twitching right now.  As far as I know, the battle system for Ruby has improved dramatically over its predecessor with 2 pokemons at a time battle.  I wouldn't be surprise if, in the future, the battle system contains 4 to 5 pokemons at a time.  This is how I see it; the future looks bright, it doesn't look dim.  Don't buy into the hype (like this one) buy into the game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Need a little help
« on: November 09, 2003, 05:12:21 PM »
I get what you're saying MattVDB.  The same thing happened to my first black generation Gamecube, which I bought right at launch date.  About 1 and a half year later, I bought another Gamecube for my nephews, which they usually leave at my house (which I'm guessing would be the second generation).  So now I have 2 Gamecubes in my household.

Anyways, when I got my copy of Metroid and heard about the glitch, I wasn't too worry about my Gamecube or the game being affected by this problem.  I have always trusted Nintendo, from previous experience except for the NES days.  Boy, was I wrong.  When I first encounter the glitch for my Metroid game, I quickly memorize the exact location in which it took place.  I took the game, placed it in my nephews' Gamecube, and tried it there.  Guess what?  Nothing happened.  I tested it over and over again.  Yet it didn't freeze up.  10 out of 10 times it didn't freeze up.  But when I took it back to my first Gamecube and tried it out at the same exact location, 6 out of 10 times it froze.

My theory on this whole mess?  Well, I know there is a slight minor flaw with Metroid because of others who have encountered it, but it also requires a Gamecube flaws as well to simply trigger an overall freeze up effect.  I continued to play Metroid on my Gamecube and it never froze up again.  It only happened to me in that one particular part.  After I finished Metroid, I began to use my gamecube for other games.  The freezing glitch never affected me again, until I got my copy of Zelda Wind Waker.  Oh boy, was that game unplayable.  Every time I enter a new arena, it would say, "Disc Error" or something like that.  I tried the game on my Nephews' cube and nothing happened.  Therefore, I was convinced that my Gamecube had a problem, which I refused to when I was playing Metroid.  I blamed it on the software like so many others.  I was in denial.  It was a Nintendo product for crying out loud!  It's not supposed to break down!  As the years passed...err...more like months I learned how to cope with the lose and look forward on the days ahead.  Guess what, it's finally here!  I'll be getting another GC shortly with the Zelda bundle coming out soon.  I hope it is Platinum.  It better be Platinum!  I hope you can do the same.

Oh, if you are curious of where the freezing part was, I don't quite remember anymore.  It has been a while, plus I have bad long-term memory.  So, you're not alone.  I have been there, but I have been over it.  You should do the same.

General Gaming / RE:Which Component Cables is best to use with the GC?

Nevermind, you're right! I did make a mistake.  It was a S-Video cable.  Anyhow, comparing Monster's S-Video cable to Nintendo's component cable, which is better?

General Gaming / Which Component Cables is best to use with the GC?
« on: November 06, 2003, 05:37:32 PM »
I have two options here:  The Monster Cable or Nintendo's component cable.  The Monster cable is $35 at my local Fry's.  The Nintendo's cable is only $30 excluding shipping and stuff at their website.  The Problem is, I don't know which offers the best picture quality of the two.  Help.

General Gaming / RE:GC freezes up while loading games.
« on: November 06, 2003, 06:14:27 AM »
It only means one thing...your GameCube is dying!  I suggest you get rid of it and get a new Gamecube which ever way you can.  The same thing happened to my Black Gamecube with Metroid.  At first, I had a few lock-ups in Metroid during those elevators loading sections.  That happened a few times before it eventually affected my Zelda gameplay.  Pretty soon, my Gamecube couldn't read any of the discs anymore.
My suggestion, to you, is to trade it in with Gamestop and get a used Gamecube instead. OR you can buy another Gamecube with the new Zelda bundle coming out soon.  If the problems continue with another Gamecube, then perhaps the Gamecube does have a mind of its own and it is telling the obvious.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:any one selling a broken gamecube maybe trade
« on: October 15, 2003, 09:55:39 PM »
I, too, have a broken GC that can read disc for a couple of seconds before the whole drive stops spinning and the "no disc" label pops up.  The odd thing is, I can use it for Animal Crossing just fine.  But that isn't the only thing I use the broken GameCube for.  I also use it as my new "GameBoy Cube" system(don't know what that means? figure it out for yourself).  Sometimes, I would also get the "no disc" label, but on rare occasion.

Since I don't have a working Cube right this moment, I'm patiently saving money to get the new GameCube/Zelda bundle when it comes out this holiday season.  When that time comes, I will have the best of 2 worlds, a GameBoy console and a GameCube console.  Damn those tactics games and those SNES remakes! I'm going broke!!!

My advice to you... keep your old GC and just get the new GC/Zelda bundle when it comes out.
