Do you know her original name then?

If what he said is true, then that would mean NoA came up with the name and told NoJ, because her name in the Japanese version is Tetra, katakan-ized.  Like so: ƒeƒgƒ‰@(That's romanized as "tetora")

Nintendo gallery spoiler
"Okay, im gonna be really nice and give you a full mini-tutorial.

get the camera, its in the cell where Tingle was held (break the box to get to it), then take it to lenzo, take a pic of a guy in red mailing a letter, then the guy in the coffe shop while hes shaking, then the girl in orange when she looks at the young man as he walks by her.

Then go to forest haven and snatch a fat firefly (more light than the others) and give it to lenzo for a DX camera. Take a COLOUR picture of the Rito mailman behind the desk.

Then buy a puyo pear, go back to forest haven, climb to the top of the deku tree, go to the passage higher than the one with the arrow, fly to the small island with the hatch. Then use the pair to fly over to the swich on forest haven, go into the gallery and give the man your picture, then just wait 1 full day (in-game)."

those are the instructions nem on the zelda no densetu forums gives on obtainign the figurine of the runner.

Obtaining a figurine of the runner?  I gave the sculptor a pictograph of Kobali (guy behind desk) and got a figurine of Kobali, not of the runner.  His bio does mention a rumor about previous generations; That is what you're talking about, isn't it?  I didn't do the exact course of events that you wrote; I'd already done most of those things of course, but I did give him a color picture of Kobali.

Wind Waker:

I like to break Sue-Bell's pots by chucking another pot at her face.
I also like to bust out the Wind Waker and randomly move around both the control sticks; It looks hilarious.  If you haven't tried it, do so next time you happen to have it out.
Sometimes, when sailing, I like to jump and then try to jump again as soon as I hit the water; If you time it just right, you just barely land before you go up again.  It's fun...
Oh, and I also like to snipe the other people in the Windfall Island auction... I mean, sure it's evil, but it's a good way to win.

Link's Awakening:

Stealing stuff from the Mabe Village store is always fun... The only problem is what happens when you come back to the store.  The shopkeeper for some reason has magical laser beams at his command and kills you in an instant.  Of course, I always got a big kick out of everyone calling me "THIEF."

Holodrum is from Oracle of Seasons and Labrynna is from Oracle of Ages.  Koholint is the name of the Windfish's Isle.

My two minor complaints:
1. They should have just subtitled Miyamoto, rather than dub him in a quiet voice with a factitious japanese accent.
2. They should have shown him playing guitar without dialogue over it.

It was awesome.

Nintendo Gaming / My Idea of a Good Zelda Game
« on: April 15, 2003, 11:35:28 PM »
I like some of your ideas.  I dislike some.

~10 dungeons:  agree

Music not big part of game: disagree, music is extremely important to me

action over puzzle: disagree; I'd have about the same of both

ganon difficult to beat: agree

Link and Zelda get married: disagree; way too corny

ghost towns everywhere: disagree, but I would like maybe a few ghost towns

plague killing almost everyone: disagree.. maybe many people, but not almost everyone

baddies harder to beat: agree

flute used to trigger things: agree

horse mounted fighting: agree

rupees less common and weapons to buy: agree.  I remember saving up 900 rupees in LA to buy a bow, and saving up 900 rupees takes a while.. imagine if you had a big selection of weapons, depending on how far you are in a game, that are very expensive.  it would feel nice once you finally saved up enough.. in Wind Waker until I finally got the 5000 rupee upgrade, there were too many times when I would be carrying full rupees and getting a bunch of rupees I couldn't carry; they were too easy to come by.

extras you mentioned: meh.. they sound silly, but maybe, just maybe, they would turn out good

graphics: it would depend.. "realistic" graphics might look weird in Zelda if they weren't done well.  I liked the cel-shading in WW, but if it was a very serious game.. maybe cel-shading wouldn't work well.  Perhaps if we could have cel-shading, but with slightly less chibi character designs.

I wonder if the crazy banjo part in that race / rainbow level / etc. music in Super Mario 64 was Shiggy's idea...

Kondo: Here's the music for the rainbow ride level...
Miyamoto:  Ah, very nice.. but it needs more crazy banjo in it.
Kondo:  OK, got it.

I wonder if Kondo taught him or he figured it out by ear...  To tell the truth, I don't know as much as I'd like about Shiggy; I didn't even know he played guitar or banjo or whatever.

Just a question: How far into Wind Waker did you play?  You at least made it to when Aryll is saved, right?  That's when the plot really thickens.

Nintendo Gaming / Another Zelda Game
« on: April 14, 2003, 01:29:33 AM »
I find that an interesting idea.  I'd be interested in them creating a similar game in that it's in a dream world, but not the same game because something a little new would be nice.  It would be a great way to have surrealistic happenings, like what you said about the world changing depending on the Windfish's mood.  It would be a great excuse to have things not physically possible happen.  Of course, it would be cel-shaded.  ^_^

Nintendo Gaming / What happened to the overworld theme?(^Spoilers^)
« on: April 04, 2003, 09:12:32 PM »
>> Havn't any of you noticed that in OoT, all the warp songs ended the same?

No.  They do not all end the same.  Most of them end with a harp arpeggio, but what leads up to that arpeggio varies.  The Requiem of Spirit doesn't do the arpeggio at all.  The Minuet of Forest is the one that ends in the same way as the Ballad of Gales, except for the difference of tonality; Ballad of Gales (if I remember correctly) is in C and ends in C, whereas the Minuet of Forest is in D and ends in E.

*sigh*

I can hardly believe someone is badmouthing the overworld music just because it isn't the exact same as the original overworld music.  It is basically a different piece altogether.  It only vaguely resembles the original near the beginning.  The chord structure is different, and especially the style and feel of it is different.  I don't know about you, but I think the sailing music from Wind Waker perfectly fits the setting.

It's not like they completely removed it from the game.  That tune is still in the story intro, it also shows up right before you go back down to Hyrule.  I think with the new sea setting for the overworld, a new theme was in order.  Why don't you try expanding the original overworld theme, and giving it more of an ocean feel?  It would take some work to do.  I'm imagining that in my head right now.. the same style as the current theme, only except the chords changed to the original progression, the original tune, with the long rests in between phrases..  It would sound nice, I suppose, but the new theme really works better, in my opinion.  Also, if it was the original theme, Kondo would have a harder time blending all the various themes together for the ending credits.  I think that was an excellent touch.

In the Ballad of Gales, the cadence is the same as the end from Minuet of Forest.

On this official page about the Japanese version of Ocarina of Time, it's spelled 'kokiri.'  And it's in katakana.  http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n01/n64/software/zelda/index.html

Hmm.. I have a question about the Nintendo Gallery.  I want to try to collect all the figurines, since I'm such a Zelda freak.  My question is this:  Is there a way that you can screw up and absolutely have to start a new game in order to complete the gallery?  I'm near the end of the game (not second quest) and only recently went into the Nintendo Gallery, and have only about 4 figurines so far.

Awww.. with all the reviews saying she was "shaking her butt to the beat" I expected it to be true.  Sure, she shakes her butt, but it's not even remotely on the beat.  Only in a few parts of the cut scenes does she bob her head actually on the beat.

Here's an idea.  Play for another hour.  That stuff should be explained by then (give or take a little depending on how quickly you play).  I don't want to spoil anything for you, so I'll just say that things are explained in a way that it basically wraps up a whole connection between WW and OoT (and MM)..
