Nintendo Gaming / Re: Nintendo Switch 2
« on: January 17, 2025, 11:39:44 AM »
I like the design and look forward to all the improvements Switch 2 will have over Switch. I don't plan to play Switch games on the new device, just Switch 2 exclusives so I until we see Splatoon 4 or something else I am dying to play I am not too excited. I still plan to get one at launch. One question I have is about amiibo support. Do folks think there will be an NFC reader on the device?

Great game, though, and criminally underappreciated.
Agreed, the game is fantastic with some really great levels and awesome music.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure - 5 hours (I was wrapping up my Platinum run with the game's biggest challenge, which took all afternoon)

Ah yes, the Ripsnorter. I practiced that for weeks before getting it. Very impressive to get it one afternoon. Nice work!

Everything I played was on the Switch again so anything that's for another systems was either the Switch remaster or through one of the many retro compilations.

There is a good amount of retro selections there! How do you keep track of all the games you play?

With 2024 officially over it is time to start another year of gaming. What better time then to post your records of games played, beaten, or completed. Personally I like to hear what system the games were played on, how long they took, whether you beat them any% or 100%, and if they were first plays or replays. Of course, feel free to post as little or as much as you want.

I am replaying Kid Icarus Uprising on 3DS now and I have been really enjoying the music. I don't have the best headphones so it would be nice to hear the music uncompressed on my home stereo. Also I have been loving the Splatoon 2 music!

I am not sure if it was a new announcement or not, but it was mentioned that Civilization 7 will be released on Switch. I am actually interested in trying that one out. I was on the fence with Civ 6 but might as well wait for this one at this point.

If we're including non-Switch games on this list, then Astro Bot absolutely needs to be there for "Best Multiplatform". I would also add Persona 3 Reload to the Remake category.
Done and done!

I am usually opposed to having to get a new app of any kind, but I actually like this one. It is easy to use and the music quality is nice. I also like the themed playlists such as being able to listen to all the Rosalina music in the app. I am looking forward to the Splatoon 2 music being added which makes me want the music from Splatoon as well.
