Between this and the Hastings chain closing last year, I'm feeling that I am going to have to destroy the entire Internet. Just giving everyone fair warning.
I didn't pick this up right away because I had already played and beat it back on the Gamecube, but now it seems to be out of print. Oddly, it isn't part of the Nintendo Selects except in Europe! Any word on it coming to NA? I've seen a few used copies here and there online, but I haven't found a new copy.
The FINAL splatfest is here and it is Team Callie vs Team Marie. This is what all the splatfests have been secretly about. Sister versus sister, Squid vs Kid! July 22nd, 2am PDT http://splatoonus.tumblr.com/
Do you bleed ink? You will.
Pick your waifu like an anime fan on prom night
"I'm sorry Tony, Marie is my waifu." "...So was I."
Remasters, Remakes, Reimaginings and HD Rereleases have been going on with increasing frequency for several years now. Sometimes it seems like every other game released for consoles today is an up-port of an earlier game. Nintendo released Super Mario All Stars back in 1993 and it was a collection of the first four Super Mario games, but they were redone in fancy 16 bit graphics and SNES sound. I remember being impressed by this as a kid, and also by the fact that all the games were on one cart.
I think this was the first remaster rerelease of game. There were ports before that, but they weren't rebilled as improved versions of the game. If you put your game on a new system, you took advantage of that systems capabilities, no fuss about it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this was first game that was put out as a remaster. The term and definition is a little hazey, but I can't think of any earlier games.
It's fascinating and terrifying. It's a heavily monitored, family friendly Nintendo social network, but the horribleness and weirdness of the Internet stills finds a way in.
What am I doing with my life? Am I turning into of those collectors? Am I at the point in my life where the best games are behind me? Why was it so hard for me to find until now?
The worst part is, I don't want to play it until I get the Y cable for my new Wii U ext. hard drive, So I have to wait until Monday.
Project Treasure is a new Free to Play Wii U exclusive game from Bandai-Namco. Little is know so far, but the teaser in the 1-14-15 Nintendo Direct says it is a Four-player coop action game where you "clear traps, route enemies and seize treasure"
Judging from the header title above, something Egyptian is involved. Tomb Raiding perhaps?
Cast of Characters:
The Prom Date with a Gun
Idris Elba
Japanese School Girl with a Samurai Sword? Again?
Grim Reaper Cosplayer
I'm hoping it's some school puzzle based 3rd person survival/action horror game, but it will probably be:a MOBA or Spelunky clone.
EDIT: Actually, you know what? Look at the green collars they are wearing? Some sort of Running-Man situation maybe? Play the game or collar blows your head off?
From designer Tomonobu Itagaki, the sunglasses wearing creator behind the modern Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, comes his first project since splitting with Tecmo in 2008.
Vahalla games was formed from former members of Team Ninja with Itagaki at the head. They partnered with THQ as a publisher and Devil's Third was first introduced in 2010 with a demo trailer: http://youtu.be/xzLaWbLZl24 Showcasing an over the top third person shooter with mobility and melee featured, little was heard of the game and when THQ folded, it's fate was uncertain.
Now, it's 2014 and Devil's Third is BACK!
Devil's Third was announced exclusively on IGN right after the Nintendo E3 presentation. The first demonstration was rough. http://youtu.be/3Ndkwgr5eB8
Finally it was shown off at the Nintendo Treehouse at E3 and that was best of all.
The story is something about all the satellites getting taken out by space debris and bad guys using the opportunity to take out electronics around the globe. Now the world's militaries are back to lowel level tech.
Somehow a former Soviet criminal named Ivan is involved.
The multiplayer has interesting territory control gameplay with wacky game modes and customizable fortresses and characters.
I don't know about you, but to me despite the roughness and somewhat dated trappings, the game looks fun.
