A month prior to the launch of Switch 2, Nintendo pivoted the browse page of the web eShop to using square icons instead of rectangular hero images. Games were always supposed to provide those icons, but they weren't used very much.
Comedy ensued.
We're no longer seeing games that just don't have an image, but we now get dumb garbage anyway.

On the topic of Nintendo releasing retro games, the smart and handsome question asker left open the possibility of Nintendo finishing off an unreleased game. And they've done this, at least one and more depending if you count localising. So my firth thought was Star Fox 2 which was finished off and released for the Super Nintendo Mini Classic. The other option is the often forgotten localisation of Fire Emblemâ„¢ Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, which was available as a standalone purchase on the Switch eshop for a limited time. They even did a physical version with a commemorative NES cart.
