Nintendo Gaming / RE: Are the memory cards region specific?
« on: November 10, 2004, 05:12:37 AM »
the GC memory cards are formatted differently for different regions, so you can't have Japanese saves on the same memory card with North American saves (for the most part), luckily your GC can reformat a memory card for your GC's region

problem is, i dont remember what you have to do in order to format the card

IGN is reporting that the game is now coming out a week earlier

apparently it will be available the same day as Metroid Prime 2 (the 18th)

kinda happy to see a date consistantly moving closer, remember this game was originally supposed to release in 2005

you'd have to deal with some really hardcore bad guys.

ha ha, i'm sorry but i found that line hilarious

even if what they are doing is illegal, you must still be impressed with how hard they tried and actually got it working.  i mean hacking the XBox was phenominally (sp?) easier.

i never thought they'd be able to hack the cube, but they did

so i guess there isn't co-op anymore, and the Replay VFX can only be used by Sylvia

I'm sure it will still be a great game, but I must say I am a little disappointed.

Nintendo Gaming / Multiplayer GBA games??
« on: May 12, 2004, 09:54:37 AM »
I was just wondering how the DS is going to handle multiplayer GBA games.  Those are required to use the link cable.  So will the DS have a port for the link cable (thus allowing GameCube connectivity) or will it somehow "emulate" the link cable using the wireless built-in?

This sprouts another question for me . . . Will the GBA wireless adapter work on the DS?

yes Zero is a character from Mega Man

He was first introduced in Mega Man X

He now had his own series on the GBA called (you guessed it) Mega Man Zero

TalkBack / RE: Nintendo Patents GBA Emulation
« on: April 29, 2004, 11:51:22 AM »
i totally agree with Nintendo on this one . . . if i took all the time and money to develop a system, i wouldn't want some bastards taking away my profit by creating an emulator for it,

also, this could possibly mean that Nintendo is thinking of incorporating their own GB emulators into future systems, just a thought

um i played Majora's Mask all the time on the N64 and it never froze on me  . . . . i've never played the GC version, so I dont know how stable that one is

Nintendo Gaming / VG System with Hard Drive?
« on: April 05, 2004, 01:57:09 PM »
I don't know if this is old news, or if it even belongs in this forum, but I was checking out the United States Patent Office and I found this:

Security system for video game system with hard disk drive and internet access capability

This was filed by Nintendo back in May 2002, but it is dated March 30, 2004 (not quite sure why).  There are some drawings and other documents along with it, but I can't view them for some reason.

I was just wondering what you guys thought about this.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo Nexus: Next-gen name?
« on: October 13, 2003, 03:44:33 PM »
Does anyone else remember that the N64 was originally called the NU64 (Nintendo ULTRA 64)?  I remember talking with my friends about when the NU64 was coming out and what games it was gonna have.  But then they got rid of the Ultra

I hope they somehow put Ultra into the next system.  I personally like the NUES (Nintendo Ultra Entertainment System) or UNES (Ultra Nintendo Entertainment System).

Rogue Squadron already got ported to PC, so it would be no problem porting it to X-Box.  And since someone earlier stated that Rouge Leader was based off the Rogue Squadron engine, then it shouldn't be too hard to port Rouge Leader either.   I think the only possible porting problems would come from Rebel Strike.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:What game I'd like to see for the Gamecube
« on: September 04, 2003, 01:12:47 PM »
Hey! I love your avatar Caliban.  Naruto rocks!

Anyways, I would love to see Skate or Die! 3D.  It would be kinda like Tony Hawk, but there would be a story mode and weapons like Paintball guns and M80s.  Plus you could have the tournaments with things like downhill racing and joust.

Nintendo Gaming / Digimon on GC??
« on: April 21, 2003, 02:27:08 PM »
Hey folks,

I was just searching through the GameCube games on EB's website, and I saw that they had a Digimon game listed for the GameCube.  I haven't heard of this before now.  Is it real?  I didn't think that Nintendo would let a game like that be on the GameCube considering it would be competition for Pokemon.  I personally am excited about this if its true, cuz I loved the Digimon cartoons on TV.

Well, here's the  link

Nintendo Gaming / How to mod a US Cube to play JPN games?
« on: April 13, 2003, 08:55:24 AM »
Why don't you just pick up a Freeloader?  Then you don't have to worry about any of that technical stuff, just pop in the disc, and go.  It's great.

Nintendo Gaming / Tales of GC RPG
« on: April 11, 2003, 09:57:32 AM »
Is it just me, or does this game show how cell-shading can actually look beautiful?    I mean, I love Wind Waker and all, its just I hate the cell-shading in that game.  But i look at Tales and I am just drooling over the screens and video.

I am still a little confused about the battle system.  How exactly do these "planes" work?  Is the combat like Star Ocean or is it a little more restrictive?

Nintendo Gaming / Soul Calibur 2.....
« on: March 20, 2003, 06:32:25 PM »
Hmmm, I really don't know what this game will be like, because I have never played Soul Calibur 1.

What is the fighting "style" in Soul Caliber?  I mean, I love Street Fighter's fighting style and Guilty Gear's fighting style.  However I HATE Mortal Kombat' fighting style.  It just seemed to slow to me.  I love having high speed and lots of combos.

Is Soul Caliber fast and full of combos, or is it a slow fighter?

Nintendo Gaming / Tingle in OoT??
« on: February 18, 2003, 01:48:23 PM »
I was just looking through the Wind Waker preview booklet that came with my OoT: Master Quest game, and when it mentions that you can buy things like bombs from Tingle, it says, "Tingle will be a familiar to gamers who have played either N64 Zelda game."

Now, my question is, where was Tingle in Ocarina?  I thought his first appearence was in Majora's Mask.  Am I wrong?
