TalkBack / Re: Ex Rare Staff Considering Banjo Successor

I hope this is more like Banjo-Kazooie and not Tooie. Banjo-Kazooie was excellent, but Banjo-Tooie was just annoying. There was way too much running around huge, nearly empty areas. Banjo-Kazooie levels were still big, but they managed to put the items closer together, making the game much more enjoyable. There was less wasted time going half way across a level for something like a split-up pad, just to go back to where you were.

Super Monkey Ball is a great game. I still remember how nervous I was as I was while playing the expert extra stages, hoping to make it to the master stages. Once I got to those master stages I didn't have to worry about dying anymore, knowing that I could use my continues.

Pikmin should make the list. That game has a great atmosphere combined with excellent gameplay. While it was short, it was worth playing through multiple times. I purposefully went through all thirty days once without accomplishing anything, just to see what journal entry Olimar would have next.

I never understood how people liked Pikmin 2 so much more than 1. I didn't even finish playing through it due to the cheap methods it used to lengthen the game. For example, was it really necessary to make electrified gates that only yellow Pikmin could open?

Donkey Kong Country 3 is my favorite. I keep hoping that a new 2D Donkey Kong game will be announced.

Hulu does not work on the new one. I should have tried if it worked on the old version.

The time limit never bothered me in Pikmin. In fact, it may have even improved the game.

I definitely agree with decoyman about the first game being magical. The music, the levels, and the journal entries at the end of the day all enhanced the mood of the game. I loved Olimar's ramblings about missing his family, etc. To me the second game seemed to be missing this.

I played through the first game a few times, and I really liked it. I tried the second game, but it annoyed me so much I never finished it. In the first game there was always quite a few parts that you could get, even if you didn't have all the Pikmin types yet. In the second game you can get a little bit on one level, then you had to go to the next level and get a new Pikmin type, etc. I hate it when games force lots of running around just to make it a longer game. I also didn't like the dungeons. It seemed to me like most of the changes were made just to lengthen the game.

I was surprise to see Pac-man and upside-down Miis. I'm not even close to that level of creativity.

People on GameFAQs are reporting that some Best Buys are already selling Mario Galaxy.

I just found a video on Nintendo's Japanese site showing that move: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/rmgj/action/jump_variation.html

Are you talking about the move where you run one direction, then turn the other direction and immediately jump? I've read elsewhere that that move is in Galaxy. If not, I'm disappointed. I use that move constantly.

$44 million is the money they get paid directly. If there were no third parties a lot less Wiis would have been sold.

I agree with the "Bad, Mediocre, Good, Great, & Excellent" rating system that vudu suggested. I think it would be great to switch the rating system even though it would take a little to get used to.
