A late, beloved DS RPG is returning to the scene in Japan this June.

Atlus announced Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology in this week's edition of Famitsu magazine. Launching on June 29, the game will be a full remake of the 2011 DS RPG with an additional scenario added as well.

The remake will also include balance changes and full voice acting, including an opening video produced by A-1 Pictures. Further Atlus announcements are expected on an anniversary livestream from Japan on March 26 at 7:00pm JST.

Radiant Historia is BY FAR my favorite DS game, and I have over 50 games for said system.  That also says a lot considering how rich the RPG library was for the Nintendo DS.  How much do I love it?  Well I just played through it again last year.  I also had bought both game guides for it even though I don't understand any Japanese.  (pretty pictures though!) 


I am not one to believe that dreams have meaning or power or anything.  But I kid you not:  Last week I had this dream where I saw Radiant Historia images advertised on TV as if there was a sequel or something.  I was super exciting shouting OMG (See above) but then I wake up.  I am only sharing this paragraph as I actually got to experience this emotion twice!  Once awake and once asleep.


Finally.  Dear Atlus Please Please Please Please Please release this in NA too.  Oh and by the way, you know the game called Etrian Odyssey 5?  Please Please Please Please Please get on the ball and release that in NA too.  Thanks!  ^_^

Yeah, I want to get excited about this news (I never played the original game on DS, so this would be the perfect excuse to finally get to it), but their silence on Etrian Odyssey 5 is starting to become conspicuous and I'm starting to feel like this game's localization isn't guaranteed either. Hopefully they announce both of them during the livestream in a few days (or at least make an announcement coinciding with the event, if they're keep the stream to news for Japan only).

I'm less excited about this news because I haven't played the game and I own it for DS (which I now regret since there will be a superior version released on the 3DS). I'd like to see Infinite Space get an announcement like this. That would have me excited having not procured a copy of the game yet.

I'm in a similar position to you, as I have the DS copy of Historia and I never finished playing it. I would be much more excited if this was coming to Switch as that would be enough incentive for me to double-dip.

I third this. I buy a couple of their 3DS games every 6 months just based on reputation and aesthetic alone. I'd get both of these and play them someday.

A generous offer but I won't be taking you up on it. I wouldn't get around to playing it for a few years at least so it would be better if I found a copy of my own so that if I did want to tackle it then I could do so when I wanted and not feeling guilty about holding on to someone else copy or worrying about the care and condition of it.

I have this but never played it much. I don't remember why I didn't play more, as I remember thinking it was a solid game. As such, I don't think I'd pick this up, if it even releases outside Japan.

Very cool im all over Radiant Historia. I long for the day Square will announce Dragon Quest X for 3ds North america
