Sonic goes boom.

Sonic and Batman are the notable releases this week. Unless you love Hello Kitty, or get excited about 3DS Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tie-in games, they really are the only ones worth talking about.

3DS

Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal - $39.99, November 11

This Sonic release on 3DS is a 2D platformer rendered in 3D, so a 2.5D game. A separate story but similar name makes this game worth playing, assuming it is good, even if you plan on playing its Wii U sibling.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze - $29.99, November 11

How many Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games have come out this year? I hope this is the last, or they risk saturating the market.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - $29.99, November 11

A handheld rendition of LEGO Batman 3. If it's anything like other handheld LEGO games, it will feature different the same kind of gameplay since the original LEGO Star Wars game. Still, it may be good.

Hello Kitty Racing - $29.99, November 11

What in the world? Forget about Mario Kart, Hello Kitty Racing is in town!

Wii U

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric - $49.99, November 11

Lyric is a giant snake and you must defeat it. The Sonic Boom release on Wii U is a 3D platformer, but unlike last year's Sonic Lost World, this game has a TV show to tie in with it. Beyond that you play as multiple characters which each have different abilities. That may not be the most original idea in the world but I don't have anything to say after, "hey" just give Sonic a chance, we all liked him at one point, right?

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - $49.99, November 11

Why is Batman in Space? This isn't the beginning of a joke, this is a sincere question many will ask about this game. There are over 150 playable DC heroes and villains to play as though, so maybe you can ask one of them. There is no DLC support for the Wii U version though, so if you were looking forward to spending more money, you are out of luck.
