A brilliant re-mix for a brilliant re-make. Though all themes are used from the original, the mastery of the sound designers at Nintendo shines brightly, rekindling our love of the first Metroid’s soundtrack. Sound effects aren’t quite as inspiring, but they still stand up well against other 2-D iterations, allowing this game to just barely beat the runner up.
