We here at Nintendo World Report love our handheld games. Some of our favorite game series can be found on the Game Boy and Nintendo DS. However, there's the little part of us that wishes that game series that are rooted in the portable space would make the jump to console.

We thought about that for a while and came up with a list of handheld games that would be a perfect fit for the Wii, as well as long-running series that need to get with the program and come to consoles. The games we picked aren't there just because they are our favorites. Instead, we make a case for the games we chose, explaining why a move to the consoles would be such a good idea.

We didn't stop with handheld to console jumps. The back half of this feature lists some games that we'd like to see jump from various Nintendo consoles to the DS. Although a lot of games from both categories will seem like obvious choices, there will be a few ideas we came up with that may surprise you.
