Ninjatown

Post-Game

Do cute ninjas and tower defense mix? Find out in the fifth edition of Extra Life.

Ninjatown isn't a revelation in tower defense games, but it certainly nails the basic mechanics and understands the appeal. It's simple, rewarding, and fun. The touch screen controls work wonderfully, with the only issue I noticed is that sometimes you might accidentally double tap a ninja and give him the Ol' Master Ninja speed boost when you don't want to.

The levels, even early on, last a long time. One of the levels I played lasted just shy of 10 minutes. I didn't notice any kind of quick save feature, so as the game gets harder and each level gets potentially longer, that could be a major issue.

See? It's cute!

Still, the game is fun, and my complaints are a bit nit-picky. Ninjatown seems to be one of the better tower defense games on DS, and if you're a fan of the genre, I'd say it's worth checking out. I know I'll be slowly working my way through this game over the next few months.
