Target will be offering a special Buy One and Get One 40% deal on the Nintendo 2DS deal. This is what video game deal hunter Wario64 posted on his Twitter page.

Various balance issues will be addressed, according to the developer.
Developer Dakko Dakko is currently working on an update for their title Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Rails. This is what Rhod from the development team announced on Miiverse.

Characters from the classic film will participate in the Toy Box hopping.
Aladdin and Jasmine from the classic animated movie Aladdin will be joining the Disney Infinity cast. This is what the team behind the title announced last Thursday.
The two characters can only be used in the Toy Box mode, where you can create, build and play whatever your heart desires. There are no plans announced for more dedicated Disney sets in any form as the focus seems currently on Marvel in the future.

We enter August on a...well...not a hot streak. Maybe a mild streak? Not a ton of games out this week, but there is one interesting item of note. A Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon in now being given away to North American Pokémon X and Y players over the game’s Mystery Gift Internet option. Those interested better hurry though, as the promotion will end on August 12.

Super Mario Kart is now available on the Wii U Virtual Console in North America. The Super Nintendo classic costs $7.99.

There are eight games up as rewards this month for Club Nintendo, a nice change of pace from the usual four.
First up is the Mario game that really wasn't originally a Mario game. Super Mario Bros. 2 was a bit of a departure from its fellow 2D titles because of this, but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing and many gamers are still big fans. You can get it for 200 coins on the Wii U Virtual Console.

What's up with Treasurenauts and the Razor games in development?
In a developer blog detailing Renegade Kid's latest game, Xeodrifter, founder Jools Watsham gave details on other projects in development at the studio.
The biggest change comes to a game featuring the Razor line of scooters that seems to be dead due to "publisher issues outside of our control" according to Watsham.

Xeodrifter has been announced for the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
Developed by Renegade Kid Studios, Xeodrifter is a metroidvania-esque plaformer that puts players in a role of a space traveler who finds his warp drive damaged. After landing on a cluster of four planets, players must search for the right tools needed in order to repair the drive and send him back into space.

Another month of Mega Man releases on the Wii U Virtual Console.
Four additional classic Mega Man titles are scheduled to be released during the month of August, as announced by the the Capcom Unity blog this past week.
A new title will be added to the Wii U Virtual Console in North America every week in August. The titles included are Mega Man 5, Mega Man 6, Mega Man X3 and Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge. It has not been announced in which weeks we can expect a certain title.
