November will be Doom-free this year.
In a statement today, Bethesda have confirmed that Doom 64 and Doom Eternal have both been delayed to next year. Doom 64 will release on Switch on March 20, 2020, while Doom Eternal's Switch version will release later in the year: the other console and PC versions of Doom Eternal will also release on March 20.

November will see another entrant look to get ahead in the Switch's party genre.
Headsnatchers will launch in November on Switch. The core game is a four player party game in which the objective is to not lose the head in one of four different game modes. A single player mode is also available, as well as a "Headitor" if the 100+ standard heads don't have any appeal.

This is somebody's nightmare.
The developer of the Mario and Luigi series has been forced into bankruptcy.
AlphaDream declared bankruptcy in Japan yesterday (October 1), citing debts of ¥465m (approx. US$4.3m at current mid-market rates). The company cited higher development costs and lower sales as the reason for the bankruptcy.

Just before 100 days of release.
The long wait for friend matches in Super Mario Maker 2 is about to end.
An update is now live for the June 28 release that will add friend co-op and versus play to the Network mode. As of press time, the game is undergoing a maintenance to end at 11 p.m. Eastern time.

Ahead of a cover story in next month's Game Informer magazine for Pokémon Sword and Shield, new details have emerged about the major RPG release.
As part of the story, it was revealed that an autosave function will be present in Sword and Shield. A first for the series, the function can be turned off to allow for "soft-resetting" such as trying to get an ideal nature for a legendary Pokémon.

So far, it is. The big one for me is Yu-No: a Spike Chunsoft visual novel with an exceedingly long subtitle and a lot of history behind it... or maybe Neo Cab, a modern take on the VN. Or maybe One Night Stand, which Joe was really into at E3. Either way, it's a good week for reading.

A major multiplayer strategy game will be coming to Switch next year, though territories are still to be confirmed.
At a fan festival in Tokyo yesterday, developers Dragonest announced a Switch version of Auto Chess would release next year in order to expand the player base.
Originally a mod of DotA 2, Auto Chess first released on mobile in 2018 and has a PC version slated for launch on the Epic Game Store this year.
