Letter from the Director Part II

by Billy Berghammer - 12:29 pm EDT

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! A little update on our financial situation, as well as other ways you can help PGC stay alive!

First off I’d like to thank all the people that have come forward and donated money to help Planet GameCube in our time of need. I’ve gotten tons of e-mails of support for PGC, and it’s been absolutely fantastic! Your donations are going to help us pay for our increasing server costs. August is one of our biggest months due to Space World, and we obviously don’t want to shut down.

Want to save some cha-ching? You can nab Mario Kart Advance for a measly 20 clams. One slight catch, it's the import version...

Buyrite is cleaning out their stock of Mario Kart Advance for the GBA. Concidering the fact that Mario Kart Super Circuit probably won't be compatible with the Japanese Mario Kart Advance, people that are looking to link up with friends will probably be out of luck...

If you don't feel like... Read more...

Well, sort of! These 'Cubes are smaller and much squishier than the real thing.

Now’s your chance to get your very own squishy foam GameCube! These bad boys were only available to attendees of the E3 show in Los Angeles this past May, making these incredibly rare items.

Why would anyone give up these precious bits of Nintendo goodness you ask?! Well the simple fact is that trips to Japan to cover Space World aren’t cheap. What’s a poor guy to do?

Steven Kent shares how GameCube's graphics are better than Xbox's (at least in one respect).

In the September edition of Popular Science magazine, Steven Kent writes up a short article on Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader and GameCube's HDTV resolution. Thanks to reader Tommy Hofer, another of Kent's GCN-loving quotes can be shared with the masses.

...Rogue Squatron 2 for Nintendo's new GameCube delivers the action in 1,920 by 1,080 lines of resolution. That's equivalent to HDTV.

GBA almost as good as sex? GBA

by Mike Sklens - 11:36 am EDT
Source: http://www.gbaclip.com

Nintendo has a new Game Boy Advance ad out in Europe and it is one of the funniest commercials ever.

If you saw the first European GBA commercial, you'll remember that it was quite funny. The first one featured a man peeing down his pants in the bathroom because he didn't want to take his hands off of playing his GBA. Well, this new commercial is even better. It features 2 people going upstairs to engage in some "frisky business" with the Game Boy Advances. Thanks to Powder.

Even though this news is as grating to hear as nails on the chalkboard, PGC is here break the sad news...

No silver, no black, no pink even.

Sad but true. We've been told that when GameCube launches in the US on November 5th, it will be available in only one flavor: Nintendo Purple.

This doesn't mean that there won't be other colors available later on in the system's life time (no kidding). But if you're getting a GameCube on November 5th...it's going to be purple.
