Wield the might of the gods in a new version of the classic PC game.
In 1989 British developer Bullfrog Productions released Populous for the home computer. As one of the original God games, if not the first, Populous was critically acclaimed and sold phenomenally. XSEED Games recently announced that Populous DS has begun shipping to retailers. Like in the original, players assume the role of a god who can manipulate the landscape and create disasters like volcanoes and earthquakes.

Hudson's Pool Revolution will bring more billiards to WiiWare.
Earlier this week, Hudson announced that they will be releasing Pool Revolution: Cue Sports on WiiWare. Featuring four-player multiplayer both online and off, Pool Revolution "gives WiiWare fans what they want," according to Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson. The game uses two different control schemes, one using motion controls for shot strength, and one using buttons.

Snowboard Riot is a racing game with weapons, online play, and Balance Board support.
Hudson will bring snowboarding to WiiWare with Snowboard Riot. Featuring races more similar to Mario Kart than SSX, Snowboard Riot is an action-racing title with weapons that range from homing missiles to invisibility. Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson stated that "[this] is not your standard snowboarding game. [Snowboarding] is a rush by itself, but when you add weapons, it becomes even more exciting."

The recently announced National League Cy Young Award Winner considers himself to be "the best gamer in the clubhouse by far."
Right after the San Francisco Giants' Tim Lincecum was anointed the National League Cy Young Award Winner, 2K Sports announced that he will be featured as the cover athlete and spokesman for next year's Major League Baseball 2K9. This comes after Lincecum led the league in strikeouts, win percentage, opponent's batting average, and strikeouts per nine innings.

2D Boy has scrapped the proposed retail PAL version of their hugely acclaimed puzzler in favour of a digitally distributed release identical to the one currently available in North America.
World of Goo, the physics-based puzzle/construction game whose North American launch was met with glowing reviews last month, is now on course for a WiiWare release across Europe, according to developers 2D Boy. The two-man independent studio has renegotiated its agreement with publisher RTL Games in order to offer PAL gamers the same World of Goo experience as enjoyed by their counterparts across the Atlantic.

The first wave of retro-styled WiiWare titles will become available over three successive weeks beginning November 21.
Nintendo UK has announced that the first games in the Art Style series, a range of concept-driven WiiWare titles with simple visuals, will begin releasing on the European Wii Shop Channel during November. Cubello, Rotohex, and Orbient will be made available to download over three week successive weeks, beginning with the launch of Cubello on November 21. Each game will cost 600 Wii Points.

Interactive's new game allows players to create an assortment of monsters with over 150 parts in order to save your village.
Eidos Interactive's adventure-RPG Monster Lab released earlier this week in stores across North America.
Monster Lab takes place in the mysterious Uncanny Valley, where people are oppressed by the evil Baron Mharti. The player controls an apprentice scientist who dreams of becoming a member of the Mad Science Alliance. For acceptance he must master the mechanical, alchemic, and biological Mad Science disciplines.

Black Box's skateboarding title coming just in time for the holiday season.
EA Montreal and Black Box studios recently announced the release dates of Skate It, for the Wii and DS. The game is set to release on November 19 in North America and in Europe on November 20.
