Game Boy Player Delayed until June GC

For some unfathomable reason, the Game Boy player, due to release this month in Japan, is being delayed until June. And a possible price hike?

UPDATE: Thanks to PGC Reader Scott Thompson who has provided us with a link to the EBGames website, which lists the GameBoy Player with the June 23rd date, as well as the $49.99 price tag.

In the Code Warrior booth at GDC was the brand new debug kit hooked up to their development software. The company representative didn't know the difference between this new model and the teal debug unit, but he did know they just got this one in from Nintendo.

The 3rd Annual Game Developers Choice Awards were held as part of the GDC and Nintendo fared quite well.

The 3rd Annual Game Developers Choice Awards were held tonight in San Jose as part of the ongoing Game Developers Conference. As with the earlier AIAS Awards, Nintendo did quite well with Animal Crossing picking up a Game Innovation Spotlight Award and Metroid Prime picking up three awards; Rookie Studio of the Year, Excellence in Level Design, and the coveted Game of the Year.

Nintendo has announced the European release date of Soul Calibur 2 for the GameCube.

Nintendo Europe has announced that Soul Calibur 2, the sequel to one of the most acclaimed fighting games in recent memory, will see release in Europe this year.
