Link ventures into more than 300,000 European homes in just one weekend.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE WIND WAKER - OVER 300,000 SOLD ACROSS EUROPE IN FIRST WEEKEND

May 8th 2003 - Over 300,000 copies of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker have been sold across Europe over the first weekend on sale, as Link's latest adventure makes its stunning debut on NINTENDO GAMECUBE. Demand for this eagerly awaited adventure has seen consumers snap up what is the fastest selling title to date on NINTENDO GAMECUBE.

As a result of the success of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, NINTENDO GAMECUBE hardware sales across Europe have more than tripled.

With awesome graphics, enchanting storylines and superb quality game-play, Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda games have become all-time console favourites and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is no different.

David Gosen, managing director, Nintendo of Europe commented, "The sales for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker have been phenomenal this weekend and we are working very hard to ensure our European retailers continue to have enough stock to meet consumer demand. These excellent sales reflect our belief that this is the most eagerly anticipated game of the year and a very important title for NINTENDO GAMECUBE."

Nintendo anticipate more units to be shipped to retail by the end of next week and are working hard to satisfy the huge demand from consumers.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is exclusive to the NINTENDO GAMECUBE and launched on 3rd May 2003 at the estimated retail price of around 60 euros.

Limited edition copies of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker include a bonus disk containing two additional NINTENDO GAMECUBE games: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest.
