A ton of new information about Guitar Hero 5 was recently unveiled including the release date, names of many of the musicians providing songs, and the ability to play a single song with four different drum sets simultaneously.
Activision revealed on the Guitar Hero 5 official website that the upcoming rhythm game is debuting on September 1, which is about a week before MTV Games and Harmonix's The Beatles: Rock Band. The site also provided new information on the gameplay and some of the 85 bands participating.

Sonic and friends return to the racing genre in a new game that features online play, and special power-ups and weapons.
Sonic the Hedgehog is no stranger to racing games, having appeared in Sonic R on the Saturn and the Sonic Riders series. Today, Sega revealed that Sonic is ready to race again in the new game, Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing, which is slated to appear on all major platforms including Wii and DS.

The two new trademarks hint at possible future releases, one of which could be the follow-up to Wii Fit.
With E3 2009 a week away, two new Nintendo trademarks have appeared that may indicate what Nintendo will reveal at their press conference.
The first of these is Wii Fit Plus. While the sequel to Wii Fit has been rumored for a while now this is the first time concrete proof has been shown in the form of an English logo.

While this will be the first game in the series on Wii, both versions of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter will share the same colorful universe and the new Action Drawing tool that can be used to create useful objects out of thin air.

LucasArts and n-Space are bringing the popular series to DS this fall with Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron.
LucasArts announced today that Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron is heading to DS and is being developed by n-space.
Elite Squadron will feature the same squad-based gameplay as previous titles along with a handful of new features. The series will have multi-level battles where players can start on land, commandeer a vehicle and take it to space, and then come all the way back to the ground.

The Wii gets a lot of love this week with the releases of Nintendo's Punch-Out!!, EA's Boom Blox Bash Party and EA Sports Active.

The Grudge will haunt your Wii this October.
XSEED has announced that they have partnered with AQ Interactive to secure the rights to bring JU-ON: The Grudge to North America. The game is inspired by the horror movie The Grudge. Billed as a “haunted house simulator” due to its focus on scaring players, it also tries to keep the game accessible so that anyone can play. The director of the movie, Takashi Shimizu, is serving as creative director for the game.

Last September's musical WiiWare title is getting a full-blown retail disc release with new features and content. There will also be an iPhone version.
Zoo Publishing recently announced that Groovin' Blocks, a rhythm puzzle game that originally debuted on WiiWare, will be available for purchase in stores, later this year, in both Europe and North America.
