To "celebrate" the European release of Super Mario Sunshine, sports presenter Des Lynam dyed his moustache purple. Nintendo are sponsoring for a year, and are hoping to insure his moustache for this.

Nintendo Extends Drop on Estimate Cut, Port Dispute

Tokyo, Oct. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Nintendo Co. shares fell 9.9 percent, declining for a second day after the maker of the GameCube video-game console cut its sales forecast for the game machine and said shipments to the U.S. may be disrupted.

Lik-Sang, a Hong Kong based online games retailer has been shut down by Microsoft for selling mod chips.

The Lik Sang website has been closed for two weeks, reportedly due to server problems but Microsoft Australia have confirmed that they are taking legal action against the retailer.

TOKYO, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Shares in Nintendo Co Ltd, the world's second-largest home videogame maker, took a battering on Wednesday after it trimmed earnings forecasts and its shipment target for game consoles.
