Switch System Software 9.0 Available: Adds New Abilities Switch

And the wait for folders continues apace.

The Switch system software has updated and offers building blocks for new features.

Infrastructure was added for an alarm function and the ability to see and accept game invites from the user page on the console. The abilities to set alarms and invite friends will need to be added to software. The alarms, which can be accessed in the notification menu, will use LEDs on the Joy-Con controllers that have not been used in 2+ years.

First Three Dragon Quests Launching In Asia With English Option Switch

The first three Dragon Quest games are coming to Switch with English text.

During the Japanese Nintendo Direct, it was announced that the first three Dragon Quest games would release in their eShop on September 27. A follow-up post from Square Enix's Asia branch confirmed that the trio would receive a physical release in southeast Asia before the end of the year, with Japanese/Chinese/English text support.

Nintendo To Unveil New Fitness Plans On September 12

Nintendo is promising "a new experience for the Switch" next week, which appears to be dipping back into the world of fitness.

A trailer uploaded to Nintendo's Youtube account today shows multiple people hooking Joy-Cons into various weight belts and a more solid, circular object. The trailer cuts to multiple cities around the world, ending in Kyoto, before finishing on an announcement of more details on the 12th.

I guess Sans really IS coming to Smash Bros.

After showcasing the new fighter Banjo-Kazooie, Super Smash Bros. series director Masahiro Sakurai announced that Home Run Contest will be returning to the series in the 5.0.0 update for Ultimate. Sakurai described this mode as "pretty much the final new mode," implying there would not be any more after this.

We'll be feeling it again in 2020.

Xenoblade Chronicles will receive a definitive edition release on Switch in 2020. The original 2010/11/12 Wii release appears to be a simultaneous worldwide release for the remastered version.

Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard is the latest DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, while Banjo-Kazooie is being released later today.

Blizzard's popular shooter is coming October 15.

Multiplayer first-person shooter Overwatch is coming to the Nintendo Switch next month.

A video showcasing various Overwatch characters was seen in the first trailer of today’s Nintendo Direct. There will be new ways to play, as the trailer showcased new motion control gameplay.

Overwatch will be released on Nintendo Switch on October 15.

Luigi's Mansion 3 Gets a New Mode and floors revealed Switch

In a Nintendo Direct on September 4, 2019, several new floors were unveiled as areas for Luigi to explore: a pirate-themed restaurant, a dance hall, and the Tomb Suites, which boasts a pyramid and mummies inside.

Also, a new mode has been revealed called the Scream Park. This 4v4 party mode puts a team of Luigis and a team of Gooigis against one another to see who can catch the most ghosts, collect the most coins, and break targets.

Nintendo Direct To Air Wednesday

The list of people who saw this coming includes Ray Charles, Angel Hernandez, and Joe West.

A giant news dump is coming directly to all of us.

The next Nintendo Direct will air on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m PT / midnight CET / 0700 JST (Thursday). It is scheduled for 40 minutes and will "focus" on late 2019 Switch releases.

Nintendo World Report will have wall-to-wall coverage of the presentation.

Fourth Smash Ultimate DLC Character Originating From SNK? RumorSwitch

This only narrows it down to about 200 fighting game veterans and the Metal Slug dudes.

A copyright slipup from Nintendo of Europe appears to have nailed down the publisher of the Smash Bros character to follow Banjo and Kazooie.

Freelance writer and Source Gaming founder @PushDustin first located a page on Nintendo's European website, which lists the copyright of the character as SNK. For comparison, the same page for Hero lists their copyright as Armor Project, Bird Studio, and SquareEnix.

Untitled Goose Game Undated No More: Releasing September 20 Switch

The next project from the studio behind Night in the Woods is coming in a few short weeks.

Overland, the survival adventure where everything from the terrain to the party is random, has been announced for a September 19 release. Players are trying to get across the United States, but the road ahead is completely unknown.

La Mulana Games To Be Collected For Western Release In Early 2020 Switch

That is an awful lot of platforming.

La Mulana 2 was announced for Switch around this time last year, and now we now it isn't coming alone.

Ahead of PAX West, NIS America have announced that they will be publishing both the original and 2 in one package in early 2020. They will be hosting a PAX panel tomorrow at 7 p.m. Eastern / 4 p.m. Pacific with the game's director Takumi Naramura, which will be streamed on the PAX2 Twitch channel.
