More Twin Snakes Website Updates GC

Konami Japan has re-launch the official website for Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Also, check out the first commercial for the game.

With the Japanese and US releases of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes quickly approaching, Konami has decided it's time to take the wraps off the game's final website.

The new site supports a complete redesign and a new tagline "MGS that surpasses MGS." Although it's been re-launched, the entire website has not yet been completely updated. Some areas, such as the Mission Records still have their content "coming soon."

Iwata on DS Connectivity DS

Wowsers! North American GameCubes in short supply?

In an interesting turn of events, Nintendo of America today stated that its reservoir of GameCube consoles has nearly run dry. Nintendo news hounds may remember a time when Nintendo discontinued their console’s production in order to clear a backlog of unsold systems. It seems last year’s price cut certainly did the trick! NOA is now looking to acquire more units from international waters.

Konami's new Flash based website offers some basic background info on the Metal Gear universe to help you gear up for Solid Snake's GameCube debut.

Konami of America has launched a new flash based website for Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. XLink Kai Tunneling Software Nears Public Launch GC

Team XLink prepares to transfer users to the next iteration of its tunneling software, which includes GameCube support.

Warp Pipe isn’t the only GameCube tunneling software reinventing itself. All in all, not a bad night for Nintendo!

The British Academy of Film & Television Arts was established in 1946, and is the UK's leading organisation for honouring the very best in film, television, and interactive media.

With this in mind, on Wednesday February 25th the Academy held its first ever BAFTA Games Awards. Focusing purely on the games industry, it turned out to be a good night for both Nintendo and a handful of other related GameCube/GBA publishers.

Warp Pipe Getting Major Overhaul

Why would anyone want to ruin a perfectly good Game Boy like that?

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that a high school student hollowed out a Game Boy, filled it with gunpowder, brought it to school, and then talked to his friends about it, which eventually led to the police picking up the story. The boy was taken into custody and the bomb was neutralized.

Acclaim Reports Losses

Picking up on an interview given by Dr. Wai Yen, Lik-Sang.com is reporting that the recently released iQue player is possibly set to see release outside of China.

Dr. Yen, former vice president of Silicon Graphics and ArtX, apparently refused to be drawn on further details, but it would make perfect sense for Nintendo to consider transferring the iQue player to other piracy-troubled territories such as Russia.
