Another New Fire Emblem Game Announced

That's right, more tactical love for the GBA.

The latest issue of the popular Japanese gaming magazine, Shonen Jump, has revealed the first info on a brand new Fire Emblem game for the Game Boy Advance. The sub-title of the new game is "The Shining Stones of Good & Evil." The story, understandably, will involve two stones which are diametrically opposed.

According to some rough translation work done by the fantastic john tv of the Gaming-Age Forums, it appears that there will be two possibilities to choose from when characters upgrade in class. Also, two of the main characters are twins. It's also worth nothing that this story does not take place in the same kingdom that the US Fire Emblem does. Instead it takes place in the kingdom of Luness (actual spelling may vary). This isn't really a surprise as Fire Emblem games are typically released in story sets of two. This leaves speculation open as to if this game has a story connection with the Fire Emblem game coming out for GameCube (Trial of the Blue Flame). If so, there's probably also a good chance the two will physically link up.

Sweet. I've heard this FE somehow ties with the second Fire Emblem, Fire Emblem Gaiden. Since every Fire Emblem except for FE2 had two games in the same universe, namely FE1+FE3, FE4+FE5 and FE6+FE7, it wouldn't surprise me at all. Great news! Let´s hope it will provide some challenge since the last one is, quite frankly, too easy.

No, as far as we can tell, this game does not tie in with Fire Emblem Gaiden. We call it Fire Emblem Gaiden 2 because this game uses many features from that game.

I wonder if the GC Fire Emblem will have a more "FEGaiden" feel to it.
