Nikkei News confirmed Thursday that Nintendo is internally making an animated film for 2006.
Hiroshi Yamauchi announced his plans to found a new film production studio in September; it appears his proposal last month garnered support from Nintendo's major investors.

Nintendo's North American division purchases the former president's shares, amassing over fifty percent of the team.
Nintendo of America announced Friday that it now owns over half of the Seattle Mariners.
Athough NOA already owned part of the Mariners, it spent $67 million to purchase former Nintendo NCL president Hiroshi Yamauchi's stake in the baseball team, making Nintendo the majority owner of Seattle's team.

Toys 'R Us and Nintendo know holiday shopping isn't always jolly, so they are doing their part to cheer up their customers. Mario is appearing at the giant Toys 'R Us in Times Square to entertain and interact with shoppers during the busiest time of the year. In fact, the plumber already made his first appearance today! Ubisoft is giving Spike TV viewers a sneak peek at its upcoming Prince of Persia game tonight, with reruns this weekend.
At 11:00 PM ET/PT Spike TV will run an exclusive feature on Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The special will feature thirty minutes of in-game footage, developer interviews and other information about the game.
Spike TV will re-air the special November 20th at 2:30 PM, November 21st at 9:30 AM and November 29th at 12:30 AM. Warrior Within comes out for Nintendo GameCube and other platforms on December 2nd.

Nintendo's full promos for the DS launch hit the airwaves today, focusing on wireless communication and touch screen.
Nintendo begins broadcasting their three big DS spots today and Leo Burnett, the agency responsible has them hosted for viewing online.
"Breath" sets a snowy scene. A man walks up to a window, blows on it to fog it up, and writes a message on it. Then the pane above it fogs up on its own, and a reply appears. The window transitions into a DS with a voice-over saying, "Chat wirelessly. Play wirelessly."
