The official Nintendo community will be without a home for an indefinite period of time.
Nintendo of America has posted a notice on its website that the official Nintendo NSider Forums will be closed indefinitely, effective today. Nintendo is citing a "major overhaul" of Nintendo.com as the reason for the forum shutdown.

The top Nintendo executive has confirmed he will soon be leaving after more than 15 years with Nintendo of America.
Nintendo of America has made it official. Nintendo Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison will be leaving the company he joined in 1992 by the end of 2007.
"I have confirmed to all employees that I will be leaving at the end of December and not making the move to California," said Harrison to the Reuters news service. Harrison did not mention what he would do after his departure from Nintendo.

Hot on the heels of the Neo-Geo announcement, Hudson has revealed that PC Engine CD-ROM² and Super CD-ROM² (TurboGrafx-CD in the US) games will soon be released on Virtual Console. Starting in October, Hudson expects to release at least five titles this year and an additional ten or more games next year. The planned price is 800 Wii Points (regular PC Engine games cost 600 points).

Not surprisingly, Madden was the biggest selling game... but not so much on Wii.
The NPD Group's August sales figures have been posted at the NeoGAF forums (an official outlet of the NPD), and Nintendo is on top once again. Wii took first place in the hardware race yet again, with just over 400,000 systems sold. Nintendo DS is right behind with over 380,000 units. In its second month of a price reduction, the PS3 sold roughly one third as many units as either Wii or DS, while Xbox 360 split the difference.

Japanese titles are now available... temporarily and at a price. Updated with upcoming games.
Recently, two Japanese titles, Super Mario Bros. 2 (The Lost Levels) and Mario's Super Picross popped up on the OFLC's website. Just two weeks later, they are available for download in Europe and Australia.

High sales for Capcom's Wii titles fuel growth spurt; company doubles number of planned releases for the console.
Japanese publisher Capcom has seen its stock grow by a considerable amount this year, climbing 6.3% to 2,855 Yen ($25.10), a five year high for the company. Over the past few days alone, the company's shares have risen by a total of 14%, with a year-to-date increase of 33%.
