New GameCube and controller colors GC

by Billy Berghammer - 6:22 am EDT

I'm not sure if Nintendo checked out our poll or not, but we've got the beef on the new colors and controllers that will hit the US this November!

When the GameCube hits the US this winter, you'll actually have some choices! The GameCube will initially launch in two flavors: Indigo, and Black. Spice (orange) will be available later on, but will NOT be available at launch.

As far as controllers you'll be able to nab Indigo, Black, Spice, and Indigo/Clear (indigo on top, clear on the bottom) at launch.

GameCube Launch Numbers GC

by Billy Berghammer - 5:32 am EDT

Unfortunately, "truckload" isn't an official measurement. Check out the official numbers from Nintendo!

There's going to be a ton of GameCube's ready for launch in the US as well as Japan. How many you ask?

Japan: 500,000

USA: 700,000

By the end of 2001: 1.4 million (including launch)

North America: 1.1 million (including launch)

Even though this is a huge number, I would suggest pre-ordering a GameCube the first second you get.

Mind blowing news about the most anticpated of Nintendo franchises.

The news flow has begun, and we start with a doozy. First, a Zelda game was shown and Link was cel-shaded. Yes, you read correctly. This is, of course, an entirely different look than what was shown at Space World last year. IGN Cube speculates on the possibility of two games, although it doesn't seem likely.

French go Nintendo crazy!

The best French Nintendo news site strikes again!

According to Waluigi of Puissance Nintendo, French developer Doki Denki is working on 2 mystery games, exclusively for the GBA and GameCube. Doki Denki focuses on child-oriented titles, with games like "Tigger's Honey Hunt" under its belt. Though this wont exactly shake Nintendo's kiddie image, it's good to see more support for the 'Cube and GBA.
