Some of the puns near the end are ink-onceivable.
Nintendo has posted an Iwata Asks article for Splatoon ahead of the game's release.
Satoru Iwata sat down with five members of the Splatoon development team to discuss the game's development. The article mentions how the game's director Yusuke Amano designed the E3 reveal trailer from the ground up in order to ensure the vision came directly from the team, and the game originally played with the map on the TV and all action on the GamePad.

Clearly, the big release of the week for the 3DS eShop is Puzzle and Dragons Z/Super Mario Edition. In fact, the game's been available for preload for a couple of weeks, so you might already have it. The dark side of the Pokémon franchise will release later this year.
Nintendo has announced the newest Pokémon spinoff, Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, will release later this year.
The fifth set of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games promises a "sweeping tale of adventure and mystery", and based on the previous games will include direct control over the Pokémon.

T-shirts, plushes and squirt guns! Oh my!
A whole host of Splatoon merchandise is hitting as we approach the game's May 29 release date.
The biggest one for North American fans comes from Target, who are offering a Splatoon-branded squirt gun with their preorders. This joins the Splatoon Mii costumes for Super Smash Bros which are available at Gamestop (US)/Best Buy (Canada) as far as preorder incentives.

Not one, but two special amiibos will come to the land down under!
The Gold Mario Amiibo figure is set to release in Australia and New Zealand within the coming months.
The extremely limited edition and highly sought after version of the Super Mario Series Amiibo will be exclusive to Target stores, with an unconfirmed release date. The news comes from a Nintendo press release that promises to update with new details soon.

Nintendo has announced a round of the Splatoon Global Testfire will happen on May 23/24. As with the previous events, there will be one hour of testing of the Turf War mode.

Australia will be getting the Silver Mario Amiibo around the time North America does.
The special figure will be available from 30 May, and is an EB Games exclusive. It will retail for the standard Amiibo price of AUS$17.95.
The EB Games announcement indicates the figure is only available in limited quantities and will have a strict 1 per person limit.

Nintendo has announced that the rumored Silver Mario Amiibo will launch in North America on May 29.
A part of the Mario series, the specially designed Amiibo will launch at "all participating retailers and their online stores". The metallic Mario joins the Splatoon series and Wave 4 of the Smash Bros series in launching on Splatoon day.

Digital Event, more Best Buy demos, Nintendo World Championships, and more!
Nintendo has revealed their full E3 plans including a return of the Nintendo World Championship after 25 years.
To start things off, Nintendo will continue their tradition of having a Digital Event in order to make their big game announcements. This event will take place on June 16 at 9 a.m. PT.
