The Big Man one is already sold out.
As is tradition, the latest Amiibo announcement will accompany a Nintendo first party release.
Amiibo for Splatoon 3's Deep Cut - Frye, Shiver, and Big Man - will be available on November 17 (the same day as Super Mario RPG). The Nintendo announcement does not confirm if they will be sold separately or in one package; previous Splatoon Amiibo have been sold together.

The back-filling of the old ID catalogue continues.
The Switch has added another classic first person shooter to its arsenal.
A listing for Quake II (1997) is now live on the eShop for US$9.99 or equivalent, continuing the biannual release of ID shooters around the QuakeCon expo following the classic Doom games in 2019 and a remastered version of the original Quake in 2021.

The family's all here this time.
A new trailer for Detective PIkachu Returns ran during the Pokemon Presents that has revealed more of the game's characters.
In addition to Tim Goodman and his missing father Harry, the story will also include Tim's mother Irene and sister Sophia. Partner Pokemon were also shown, using a Growlithe to sniff out clues and a Darmanitan (Galarian form) to break walls.

Two Switch Online libraries will be adding new Pokemon games shortly.
During the Pokemon Presents, both the Pokemon Trading Card Game (GBC, 1999) and Pokemon Stadium 2 (N64, 2001) were confirmed for release "shortly after the presentation". The GBC game was announced in February with the reveal of the library, while the N64 game was announced last September.

Given the reason for the delay, the news desk certainly gets it.
A potentially catastrophic bug has caused the release of WrestleQuest to be pushed back a couple of weeks.
The wrestling RPG was originally slated to launch tomorrow (August 8) but has been pushed back to the 22nd. The cause is an unidentified platform causing issues with losing save data across multiple devices.

One of the great open world westerns is about to make its Nintendo debut.
A version of 2010's Red Dead Redemption - along with its Halloween themed Undead Nightmare expansion - will be available on Switch next Thursday (August 17). Nintendo's webstore lists the game with a price of US$49.99/C$64.99 and with no physical option.

If true, they actually managed to snipe Mineko's Night Market.
Following an extended stint in Steam's Early Access program, the other missing game from the August 2018 Nindie Showcase appears to finally have a launch window.
Multiplayer platformer King of the Hat, which was announced for an "early 2019" release in a presentation that aired on August 28, 2018, has been spotted on the eShop with a launch date of August 24 - five years (less four days) since its original unveil.

A social media post from Nintendo UK announced that online services for the original Splatoon and Mario Kart 8's Wii U version will be restored on 3 August.
