Nintendo has officially released a statement regarding the New 3DS model.

"Different territories make their own business decisions regarding individual products and timing" the statement given to Kotaku says. "We think New Nintendo 3DS XL makes the most sense for our market. Nintendo makes different systems at different price points for a whole range of consumers, and New Nintendo 3DS XL simply expands those choices even further."

MonolithSoft's epic role-playing game is sure to be a visual marvel.

During today's Nintendo Direct, a new trailer for MonolithSoft's upcoming Wii U exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles X was revealed, showcasing the game's vast open world.

We still don't have a release date in the West for the Xenoblade Chronicles sequel, but Nintendo has assured us it will be out by the end of the year. It is set to arrive in Japan on April 29.

You'll be able to bring your Amiibo with you on the go starting next month.

The 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. will be getting Amiibo support next month, Nintendo announced during today's Direct broadcast.

A system update will be rolling out in February that allows players to use the NFC capabilities of the New Nintendo 3DS XL to scan in their character data for use in the popular fighting game.

Move over Smash Bros., the newest line of Amiibo focuses on Mario and friends and will work with Mario Party 10.

A new line of Super Mario Amiibo have been announced for use in current and upcoming titles.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy Plus will be making it's way to North America and Europe.

The game, which is due for release on January 29 in Japan, will also come with New 3DS capabilities including Amiibo support.

Play the Zelda remake on a New 3DS fit for Termina.

Along with the standard model, a Majoras Mask 3DS XL has been announced as well for a Feb 13 release.

The system will release the same day as The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D releases in North America, as well as the other New 3DS models.

A shiny new Toad Amiibo means shiny new Toad challenges!

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will be gaining Amiibo support on March 20, the same day as the Toad Amiibo launches.

While Nintendo didn't go into detail during this morning's Nintendo Direct, they announced that if you scan the Toad Amiibo, you will unlock new challenges within the game involving finding a small 8-bit Toad sprite.

Make sure you get your Fire Emblem Amiibo so you can play as Marth, Ike, and more in the upcoming 3DS RPG.

Amiibo support has been confirmed for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M in which you can play as classic Fire Emblem characters.

Using the 3DS Amiibo support, putting the Marth, Ike or Robin statues will allow them to be playable in the game. However, if they die during the course of battle, they won't be able to be revived.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong will be the first official cross-buy title.

Nintendo is introducing a cross buy system with the upcoming release of Mario vs. DK: Tipping Stars on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Monster Games is behind the conversion. The Nintendo Direct mentioned that this version will have an extra mode to look at character models.

The game is due exclusively for the New Nintendo 3DS XL.

Use amiibo as virtual board game tokens in a new game mode.

Nintendo has detailed its amiibo functionality in Mario Party 10, via a new mode called Amiibo Party.

By scanning a Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Toad, Rosalina & Luma, Donkey Kong, or Wario amiibo, you can summon a token to use in a virtual tabletop game board. Each amiibo represented will have a special unique game board, with various traps and features.

The improved 3DS is coming soon, but only the XL version of the New 3DS is launching in America.

Bandai Namco is prepping a new, free co-op action title for the Wii U currently named Project Treasure. The game will have players clearing traps, getting treasure and fighting tons of enemies. There is currently no release date set for the title.

The next wave of amiibos include Pac-Man, Ness, Charizard, Lucina, and Wario. No specific release date was given.

New Hyrule Warriors DLC content has been revealed, including two new characters, Tingle and Young Link, and a new Adventure Mode Map.

Each character has their own unique attacks. Tingle uses balloons along with a bag of Rupees. Young Link attacks with his Kokiri sword and can also use his Fierce Diety Mask to transform into a more powerful version of himself. The new Adventure Mode Map looks to be inspired by Majora's Mask.

Get ready for some puzzling fun in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Puzzle & Dragons Z and Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Edition are coming to North America in May.

The two games are set to be released as a double pack, so both games will be on one cartridge/download. The Super Mario Edition has players traveling through the Mushroom Kingdom, and will be able to take Goombas and Koopa Troopas as allies.

A new free to play Pokémon title will be coming next month for 3DS.

Titled Pokémon Shuffle, the game seems to be similar to the Pokémon Trozei series except that the number of moves a player can make is limited. Players will match 3 Pokémon together, Pokémon have the ability to Mega Evolve during gameplay while also dealing damage to other Pokémon.
