Sega Officially Kills GameCube Sports Development

We recently told you that Sega was canceling World Series Baseball 2K3, but now the rest of the lineup has been axed too. Sega will no longer be producing sports games for the Nintendo GameCube.

Zelda Bonus Shipping Already GC

EBGames.com and other online retailers taking orders for Zelda + Bonus disc are already shipping the discs.

If you pre-ordered The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker plus the bonus disc from EBGames.com or other online retail stores, and opted to receive the bonus OOT/Ura disc upon availability, your discs may already be on their way.

Many orders from EBGames.com show that the bonus discs are being mailed UPS via 3-day shipping. Delivery could take place February 12 or sooner, depending on one's distance from the Kentucky warehouse.

Hori To Release Soul Calibur Stick GC

Only a handful of titles are being released for the GameCube in the Japanese market in February. Famitsu Cube Plus Advance (Nintendo-only sister publication of Famitsu Weekly) reviewed five games while Dengeki GameCube reviewed six.

Wario Ware, Inc. of Japan is open for business.

Nintendo of America recently published a list of games for 2003 which included a few surprises—one of the bigger ones being Wario Ware, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ for Game Boy Advance. Left undisclosed for three weeks, Nintendo has finally posted the beginnings of its Japanese web page for this unexpected Game Boy Player launch title, known as Made in Wario overseas.

Nintendo Increases Game Boy Sales Forecasts GBA

15 million GBAs last year wasn't enough, so Nintendo wants to go for 20 million next year.

After unvieling the Game Boy Advance SP, Nintendo has made some agressive sales goals for its flagship handheld unit. Here's a few snippets from the Reuters story:

Nintendo aims to sell two million of its new GameBoy Advance SPs, which feature rechargeable batteries and a brightly lit screen, in the first six weeks after their February 14 launch, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told a news conference.

The wacky GBA hardware add-ons continue to roll on out ...

A company called am3, funded by Toshiba, Imagica, and Bandai, are set to start test marketing in May (in Japan) a device for the Game Boy Advance (and Game Boy Advance SP) that will allow you to replay video and music file stores on SmartMedia memory cards. They plan on a full-scale release in the fall.

If you've got an Indigo or the new Platinum Cube, prepare for disappointment ...

In what has got to be one of the most baffling decisions we've seen, Nintendo has chosen to release the Game Boy Player add-on for the GameCube in Jet Black ONLY. Both EB Games and GameStop are both listing only the Black model available for pre-ordering. There may be additional colors after the initial launch, but if you have to have one on the first day, Black is all you can get.

E3 is just too long to wait to hear some good news about what’s coming from Nintendo. Louie the Cat has been sniffing around, and he’s coughed up a few interesting things.

Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve poked my head out. I’ve been rather busy whooping Billy’s ass in Mortal Kombat. It’s actually been kinda quiet, and the little birdies haven’t been out much. Can’t blame them. It’s colder than heck here in Minnesota. But there seems to have been some rumblings that have come across my plate lately that have tickled my fancy, and you know me…well….I just gotta tell you.

Nearly seventeen years to the date the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded in the early morning hours in front of a startled nation. So many people are wondering if they were watching a history reel when confronted with the news this morning that the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia met the same terrible fate. Many of the circumstances are different, but it is a tragedy of similar proportions, nonetheless.
