Pokémon Go is beginning its worldwide launch for iOS and Android.
iOS users in New Zealand can currently download the application from the local app store, while international users can create a New Zealand app store account for the free app or wait as it moves its way west. The application is showing live on Google Play but shows no eligible devices outside of NZ/Australia - though the .apk (Android app file) is in the wild.

Atlus/Sega returns to an old friend for European distribution.
Following a split from NIS America, Atlus and Sega have formed a new publishing partnership for physical games in Europe.
Deep Silver has reached an agreement to publish "Atlus and Sega titles" in Europe, beginning with Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse and PlayStation title Persona 5. The announcement was tweeted out this morning, and a follow up announcement from Atlus confirmed 7th Dragon III: Code VfD will reach Europe.

The physical pack is published by some folks who know a bit about platforming.
Inti Creates will be dropping a sequel to an eShop hit at the end of September, and a boxed copy will come along for the ride.
At the company's AnimeExpo panel, Inti announced that Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 would release in North America on September 30 in both digital and a physical format. The eShop release will be US$14.99, while a combo package of the first two ASG titles will release the same day for US$29.99.

The ex-CING developed mystery comes west from Aksys
Aksys has announced their latest eShop title at this year's Anime Expo, and it's a familiar name for DS adventure fans.
During a swath of announcements at their AX panel, the company announced they had picked up the Arc System Works-published -Chase- Mikaiketsu Jiken Sousaka ~Tooi Kioku~ announced in March for localization. -CHASE- Cold Case Investigations ~Distant Memories~ will release digitally this fall.

Tom Happ, designer of Axiom Verge would like the game to come to 3DS.
At E3 2016, Axiom Verge creator Tom Happ explained to NWR that he’s very interested in bringing his Metroid-inspired game to 3DS.

The great RPG drought of 2016 lasted about, oh, six days?
Giant swords will rain down on the Wii U Virtual Console in North America with the release of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
The 1996 Nintendo/Squaresoft collaboration will launch for $7.99 (US/C) with the $1.50 upgrade option available for owners of the game on Wii.

The four player puzzle game had a disc release rumored pre-E3.
Tumblestone, the multiplayer puzzler from the Quantum Astrophysics Guild, will have a couple of release dates this summer.
The first release will come on July 12 with the game's digital release, followed a few days later by the game's launch as a Xbox Live Games with Gold title. A physical release for Wii U (and PlayStation 4) will then follow on August 30 from Nighthawk Interactive.

The Nindies @ Home title from last year was recently revealed to be in development for New 3DS, but this version will release shortly after the Wii U version does.

Price cuts are intended to coincide with this.
One of the Wii U's most notorious titles will be losing its online services at the end of the year.
An announcement on Nintendo's support website has indicated that the online services for Devil's Third will end on December 28 of this year. The in game "Golden Egg" microtransactions will no longer be available as of noon Eastern time Monday.

Sonic Team sat down with Famitsu magazine in Japan for this week's issue, during which a new game (platforms to be announced on July 22) and a feature film was also announced. (Translation courtesy SOAH City)

A busy week for RPG fans may be about to get busier.
Nintendo of America has announced that they will be adding Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games to the Virtual Console this week, with the first series of games (Red Rescue Team on Game Boy Advance and Blue Rescue Team on DS) as well as the "third version" of the DS Explorers series, Explorers of Sky.

Furthering its Game of the Year win with some nice cosmetic things.
Nintendo of America has detailed how amiibo will work in the next Metroid title.
The information, sent out via the company's Twitter, shows different character skins for the Blast Ball mode, while scanning either of the Samus amiibo (regular or Zero Suit) will unlock skins and other ingame benefits. Details of the nature of the benefits were not provided.

A surprisingly spry week when you get a major game dropped at random.
The shock releases of BOXBOXBOY's preload and especially Rhythm Heaven Megamix make for quite a pricey week on the North American eShop. The Wii U also apparently gets its downloadable version of Terraria, with the physical version to follow in roughly two weeks.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix received its full North American debut today, and it's available for download right now.
The rhythm collection will be available only on the eShop for $29.99 US / $42.29 Canadian. No European release details are available. A demo will also be available on the eShop.
