Nintendo hardware and software performed very well during the Holiday season across all regions.
In a recent announcement by Nintendo, president Satoru Iwata presented sales data that showed Nintendo hardware and software performing very well during the month of December. While the official NPD numbers won't be released until January 14, Nintendo is pleased with the early sales numbers for December.

Capcom producer's blog hints at an upcoming announcement concerning the fighting game.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is scheduled to be released in North America on January 26, but Capcom may have an early surprise in store for fans of the game. In a recent blog on Capcom's Japanese website, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Producer Ryota Niitsuma implied that a big announcement for the West may soon be forthcoming.

An updated take on the classic hoops game is coming exclusively to Wii. "Boom-shaka-laka!"
ESPN is reporting that Electronic Arts has gained the rights from the NBA to make an updated version of the arcade classic NBA Jam. The new version of NBA Jam will be a full retail product and will ship exclusively on the Wii.

The last full week of 2009 are taken over by the plucky plumber and the hero of time, as well as other Nintendo titles.
According to Japanese Media Crate data, New Super Mario Bros. Wii was the best-selling title for the week of December 21 to the 27th, selling 506,000 copies. The latest Mario title has sold 2.44 million copies since its release in Japan on December 3rd. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks debuted in the second spot with 291,000 copies sold.

The upcoming Wii MotionPlus shooter is nearing completion.
Famitsu recently flew out to Ubisoft's offices in France to conduct an interview with multiple members of the Red Steel 2 development team. In the interview, the creative team revealed some interesting new details about the shooter, including the films that influenced the game's creation and why they decided to forego the first game's realistic art style.

Wii and DS games and accessories dominated Amazon's Top 25 Gaming Products of 2009. The top eight spots on the list went to Nintendo products, and 14 of the top 25 products were Wii or DS related. Natsume appears to have a new title coming for Nintendo DS. UPDATED!

The publisher of Klonoa and We Cheer recently filed two new potential game titles for the great continent of Europe.

The mobile download service will get a healthy dose of the side-scrolling shooter.
Genterprise is developing a new DSiWare game in their G.G Series called Dark Spirits, a side-scrolling shooter, to be released in Japan this January. The gameplay features the use of four familiars, who each can be powered up individually. The game will release on January 6th in Japan, and like other games in the G.G Series will cost 200 Nintendo DSi Points.

The Zelda producer wants to create a sequel to the Wii Zapper title with emphasis on multiplayer.
In an interview with Games Magazine, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma confessed that he wishes to create a sequel to Link's Crossbow Training, a title included for free with the Wii Zapper. In the interview he expressed his desire to expand what the team created with the first title, explaining that "I thought that we should do something more and better in the field of the first person shooter, based on our experience of the first game."
