Where’s Sin & Punishment? RumorGC

by - 1:55 pm EDT

It was listed in NOA’s E3 press materials but not at E3. Billy’s import copy was played by PGC like crazy at the hotel. What’s up this game? Why is Nintendo dropping hints? Leave it to Louie to provide some answers!

Sin & Punishment, a shooting game by Treasure was shown at SpaceWorld 2000 and got lots of positive attention. Although the game’s speech was in English and the gameplay was phenomenal, it has so far only been released in Japan. American gamers are well aware of the game and it was even listed... Source: Natsume

The niche publisher of Harvest Moon confirms support for both of Nintendo's upcoming systems. First game details inside!

Saturday I got the chance to chat with Natsume about their Nintendo plans. They admitted that a large portion of their fanbase was dependent on Nintendo systems, so of course they're going to support GameCube and GBA.

Natsume currently has two GameCube games in development, though they won't... Read more...

The Post-E3 Shockwaves Begin...

by Justin Nation - 12:16 pm EDT
Source: CNN

Some good will for Nintendo inside but mostly bad vibe for Microsoft. Also, home to the WORST mainstream media error seen thus far.

It appears that not even tons of talk about how cool the X-Box would be and how incredible its games would look can save a poor showing at E3. Already we now have a mainstream press offering looking over the score card from E3 and pointing to major weaknesses in the X-Box front.

Of course there's some good buzz about Nintendo inside from industry show-goers so it is a double win, and oddly enough Sony's place in the article is limited.

by Billy Berghammer - 1:04 am EDT
Source: SD Hardware Profile

Planet GameCube discovered some interesting things about GameCube's memory card/multimedia wonder...the SD memory card. Discoveries and pics inside!

Nothing was revealed this year at E3 2001 about Panasonic's SD Memory Card for the Nintendo GameCube. No specs, no demo's, nothing. I sniffed around E3 for some good information, and found out some interesting things, as well as took some shots of this tiny wonder.

PGC Invades Microsoft's Booth! GC

by Justin Wood - 11:55 pm EDT

Justin Wood snuck into the Xbox booth for a little fun at Mr. Gates expense!

Though I buy most systems that come out, Nintendo has always been my favorite.

Microsoft kind of put me off by their "assumption" that they could just waltz in and take over the console industry as they have everything else. I've also been disturbed by the lack of innovation surrounding the platform. One look at the controller will tell you that MS isn't generating many original ideas.

The E3 experience

by Michael Cole - 5:13 pm EDT

You can't go to E3 and not comment on the Nintendo booth itself.

Nintendo's booth was a butt-load of fun. When walking into it, the SMB theme greeted me while a running video Mario and Zelda games of previous generations lit the way to "The Nintendo difference."

The Nintendo booth--more accurately the GCN section, was always jam-packed while I was there.... Read more...

DBZ fights its way to Nintendo GC

by Justin Wood - 9:55 am EDT

Goku gears up to make several appearances on Game Boy Advance and GameCube.

Last night on the way home a certain "birdy" from Infogrames approached me on the flight back home with some interesting news.

After the year long fight to get the Dragon Ball Z license, Infogrames plans to put the hard earned license to good use on leading consoles including GameCube and Game Boy Advance.

Sin & Punishment NOT at E3?

by Max Lake - 8:03 pm EDT

NOA's press materials led us astray it seems. E3 is over and we only got to play it at the hotel.

Sin & Punishment was listed in Nintendo’s E3 press materials to make an appearance at E3, though implied that a North American release was still uncertain. Yesterday, I asked if there was any N64 games in the booth. The booth attendant told me no, that only GameCube and GBA stuff were to be found.... Read more...

Sega Smash Pack for GBA GBA

by Max Lake - 7:50 pm EDT

We learned something interesting today from Sega...

Today, we heard from a reliable source within Sega who stated that in addition to preparing Sonic Advance and Columns for GBA, it is also making a Smash Pack for Game Boy Advance. We were happy to hear this information, though Sega would not give up a list of games that would appear on the first Smash Pack for GBA... That's right, we said first Smash Pack for GBA.

Cryptic Namco Message GC

by Billy Berghammer - 5:24 pm EDT

Rumor Alert! Soul Calibur and Tekken 4 for GameCube? After seeing these demo's fighters would love em...

I visted the Namco booth today and a man, who we will call Mr. Illtellyoulotz answered my one of my questions rather strangely.

Me: Is Namco developing any games for the Nintendo GameCube?

Mr. I: We're not talking about anything for any of the next generation platforms. But if you look to the screen on my right, you'll see videos of Tekken 4 and Soul Calibur. I think you'll like them.

Tech-Head Gekko/Flipper Heaven GC

by Justin Nation - 5:09 pm EDT
Source: EETimes

Curious about a technical summary of the Gekko and Flipper and the process behind their development? Here's the place for you...

While it is all fine and well to hear Nintendo executives and other somewhat biased folks summarize the process behind the planning and development of the two key components that make the GameCube go, this may be the place you want to look for something a little more accurate.

An interesting read no doubt, though it may a bit on the dry side for the less technical folks in the audience.

F-Zero on GameCube (!!!) GCGBA

by Jonathan Metts - 10:52 am EDT

Could it be?

Near the end of our official Nintendo booth tour today, Billy pointed up at the huge video screen and said "Look, F-Zero!" They were showing a video of a racing game with futuristic hovercraft vehicles zooming around tunnel-like tracks. The cars looked very much like those in F-Zero: Maximum Velocity... Read more...

Where are the GameCubes? GC

by Jonathan Metts - 10:32 am EDT

What's up with some of the E3 GameCube demos having load times and stuff? Here's the good news.

An NOA rep at the Star Fox Adventures display told me today that only three games are running on actual, final GameCube hardware here at the show. Not surprisingly, they are arguably the best-looking games: Luigi's Mansion, Rogue Leader, and Pikmin. The other games are running on incomplete development kits, though the units in surround-sound booths have mock GC units for interface purposes.

Ghosts N Goblins 4 Revealed!

by Max Lake - 6:16 pm EDT

It's not called GnG4 and it's not on GameCube. Still, we think Nintendophiles have reason to smile. Meet Maximo!

Prior to E3, we ran a rumor that Capcom was working on a new Ghosts n’ Goblins and that it could very well appear on GameCube. As soon as we hit E3, it turned out that part of this was true. The long rumored 3D Ghosts n’ Goblins finally made its appearance as Maximo: Ghosts to Glory though it... Read more...
